Develops, implements, and improves the operation of equipment. Acts as interface between maintenance technicians and engineering to ensure the maintenance of equipment in production. Monitors Department performance and develops, implements, and improves operation of equipment. Acts as interface between maintenance technicians and engineering to ensure maintenance of equipment in production. Implements an established maintenance program and maintains detailed maintenance records. Develops best practices to improve equipment capacity, quality and reliability. Repairs, adjusts, and maintains production equipment, machinery, or instruments in cooperation with internal and external staff to ensure functionality and compliance with process specifications. Coordinates activities (PMs, TPM, problem solving) of third party contractors, vendors, or suppliers related to the maintenance field. Investigates complex problems, analyzes root causes and derives resolutions using the 8D Problem Solving Process for sustainable quality products. Develops operational strategies to achieve energy and financial objectives. Participates in budget preparation and monitors expenses and profitability. Ensures equipment uptime, MTTR, MTBF, and OEE by planning and accomplishing goals based on experience and judgment. Develops and approves training guidelines for documentation and spare part related processes, systems and tools; provides training and support to business partners. Ensures that highly technical equipment meets required specifications and high quality standards. Evaluates current production activities and drives improvement plans; coordinates problem solving with international third party contractors, vendors, or suppliers to increase reliability of production lines and equipment. Participates in new production line and equipment buy-off processes to ensure components and documentation meet Integra standards and specifications. Develops planning standards, methods, and procedures to maintain robust PM, TPM processes, and robust containments and countermeasures for equipment downtime. Stays current with product specifications, engineering technology and production processes. Proposes and manages medium-scale projects from beginning to end; may scope and manage large capital investment projects (>$5M). Collaborates with other departments in preparing scope of work including project requirements, milestones, deliverables, end products, documents and reports from external providers. Creates and maintains material release lists in collaboration with standardization departments in a worldwide network of Mercedes-Benz plants. Verifies and ensures all projects contain necessary components. Verifies requests from Line builders for component special releases; ensures additional components meet Integra requirements or suggests alternatives (Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics). May train and support less experienced engineers. Participates in regularly scheduled team meetings and other duties as assigned. Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Industrial, Manufacturing, Mechanical, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or other relevant degree required. 5 years plus of relevant experience required, strongly preferring automotive environment including experience with: PLC experience such as OMRON, AllenBradley, Siemens 3D-CAD experience such as SolidWorks, Catia, Siemens NX Hands-on experience with pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical, and computer controlled systems Hands-on experience with process devices such as motor drives, sensors, AC/DC converters, lifts, conveyors, etc. Experience with Paint applications (chemicals, sprays, filtration, pumps, degreaser, hydrocyclones, rectifier process, anodes, anolyte systems, ultra-filtration, DI-water, industrial paint oven curing). Experience with joining technologies, clinching, gluing and fluid technology. Hands-on experience in off-line simulations Experience with project management and equipment installation. Knowledge & Skills
Knowledge of manufacturing methods/procedures and process technology. Ability to present complex technical information related to achieving goals of the department. Must be able to evaluate alternative solutions and support decision making. Proven written and verbal communication at all levels within an organization with good negotiation skills. Able to anticipate needs and deliver timely, relevant solutions and actions. Proven design & implementation of Continuous Improvement themes with savings. Experience in process layout and optimization incorporating asset utilization is a plus. Ability to troubleshoot, instruct repair techniques, and assist in root cause analysis under pressure. Ability to read and create blueprints and schematics. Advanced mechanical and electrical production line (OEM) and equipment knowledge. Solid knowledge of CAE and CAD documentation. Advanced experience with spare parts and warehouse management, including purchase order expediting. Extensive experience in new production line ramp up support (procedure, buy-offs, etc.).
