Tempo
Tempo is a layer-1 blockchain purpose-built for stablecoins and real-world payments, born from Stripe’s experience in global payments and Paradigm’s expertise in crypto tech.
Tempo’s payment-first design provides a scalable, low-cost, predictable backbone that meets the needs of high-volume payment use cases. Our goal is to move money reliably, cheaply, and at scale. Our north star is simplicity for users: fintechs, traditional banks, merchants, platforms, and anyone else looking to move their payments into the 21st century.
We’re building Tempo with design partners who are global leaders in AI, e-commerce, and financial services: Anthropic, Coupang, Deutsche Bank, DoorDash, Mercury, Nubank, OpenAI, Revolut, Shopify, Standard Chartered, Visa, and more.
We’re a team of crypto-optimists, building the infrastructure needed to bring real, substantial economic flows on-chain. Our team primarily works in-person out of our San Francisco and NYC offices. We like to move fast and swing for the fences — join us!
The Role As Tempo’s first product hire, you’ll define and scale the products that power Tempo’s blockchain — from developer tools and infrastructure to payments and user interfaces. You’ll partner closely with engineering, research, and ecosystem teams to design intuitive, reliable, and performant products that move real economic value on-chain. It’s a product role suited for someone excited to work across deeply technical systems and fast-moving product surfaces, whether that’s developer SDKs and APIs, validator infrastructure, wallets, payments integrations, or dashboards.
Responsibilities
Define and execute product strategy across Tempo’s key surfaces: developer experience, payments, infrastructure, or interfaces.
Translate technical and business requirements into clear product specs, roadmaps, and success metrics.
Partner with engineering and research to ship high-impact, technically complex features with reliability and scale.
Build feedback loops with developers, validators, and ecosystem partners to guide prioritization and iteration.
Collaborate with ecosystem, design, and partnerships teams to deliver end-to-end experiences across APIs, explorers, wallets, and tools.
Maintain high-quality documentation, developer guides, and user-facing resources.
Establish and monitor key performance and adoption metrics to measure success.
Drive coordination for network upgrades, new releases, and major product milestones.
Qualifications
6+ years of Product Management or Technical Program Management experience in software, infrastructure, or fintech.
Strong understanding of blockchain fundamentals — ideally EVM-based ecosystems, RPCs, smart contracts, or validator operations.
Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams to deliver complex, technical products.
Excellent communication skills; able to translate technical detail into clear product narratives.
Experience working closely with developers or in developer-facing product environments.
Analytical and data-driven; comfortable setting metrics and using data to inform decisions.
Entrepreneurial mindset, hands-on attitude, and comfort operating in an early-stage environment.
Nice-to-Have
Experience in payments, financial APIs, or settlement systems.
Familiarity with Solidity, TypeScript, or other modern programming languages.
Prior work on infrastructure, node operations, or developer platforms.
Experience building products in Web3, open-source, or distributed environments.
