About You and This Role

The purpose of the Site Logistics Material Handler job is to provide service to Production and to the Marietta site through Raw Material and Finished Goods loading, unloading, staging, packaging, and shuttling. The Material Handler works closely with the Clerk to collaborate and communicate with Logistics Personnel, Operations, Customer Service Representative, Service providers and all others involved in the receiving, staging, and shipping of material. The Material Handler will be a positive team player assisting other receiving team members as able to help build positive team chemistry.

This role develops technical skills on the job to perform routine work activities using existing standard operating procedures. Completes assigned tasks with a close to moderate degree of supervision.

In this role, you will be using standard operating procedures to complete well-defined activities to develop the technical skills required to perform routine tasks. You will need to understand how these assigned tasks relate to other jobs and be able to exchange information in routine situations within your workgroup.

It is your responsibility to use existing procedures to resolve straightforward problems with limited opportunities to independently modify procedures or work processes. You are accountable for managing your assigned tasks and the accuracy of your own work. You will receive close to moderate level of supervision and guidance in this role.

Responsibilities

Follow established operating procedures and safety standards to ensure safe and efficient material handling.

Successful completion of all required training.

Physically load and unload product in a safe and legal manner in accordance with Dow standards and all regulatory requirements.

Perform OSHA-required equipment inspections prior to use.

Safe operation of various fork lift equipment to move drums, totes, pressurized tanks, and pallets.

Safe operation of turret lift equipment for staging and pulling materials from racks at heights exceeding 20 feet.

Assist with safe and proper preparation of loads for shipment including banding, stretch wrap, palletizing, blocking and bracing.

Movement of raw materials, packaging materials, and miscellaneous equipment and items as requested.

Participate in root cause investigations if unplanned events or failures occur.

Perform daily housekeeping activities as required by Dow policy.

Qualifications

A minimum of a High School Diploma or GED equivalent.

0-2 years of relevant experience preferred.

Must be capable of interfacing with a computer to input data.

Work any shift with occasional overtime as needed.

Current, valid US driver's license to drive a forklift.

1 year experience driving forklift and turret lift at heights of 20 feet preferred.

Ability to learn to operate forklift and turret lift at heights of 20 feet.

Knowledge and experience working in warehouse management operations and systems preferred.

A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.

Physical Requirements

Able to meet the following physical demands of the job, with or without reasonable accommodations:

Wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as: respirators, protective clothing, face masks, goggles, boots, etc. The respirator will require a clean-shaven face.

Lift (up to 50lbs), push, and pull.

Frequent bending, reaching, and lifting.

Stand and walk for extended periods of time.

Work at heights, climb stairs and ladders.

Work in tight and enclosed spaces.

No known sensitivity to chemicals.

This role does involve elevated work greater than or equal to four feet above the ground. Must be able to wear and use personal protective equipment (PPE), including harnesses with a total weight capacity of 300lbs.

Your Skills

Material Handling Expertise: Safely loads, unloads, stages, and shuttles raw materials and finished goods using forklifts and turret lifts, including work at heights.

Operational Safety & Compliance: Follows established operating procedures and safety standards, performs OSHA-required equipment inspections, and uses PPE appropriately to meet regulatory and company requirements.

Team Collaboration: Works closely with clerks and logistics personnel to support receiving, staging, and shipping activities while contributing to a positive team environment.

Technical & System Proficiency: Uses standard operating procedures and warehouse systems to complete routine tasks, input data, and prepare loads for shipment with accuracy and efficiency.

Physical Endurance & Adaptability: Meets demanding physical requirements such as lifting, climbing, and working in enclosed spaces, while managing assigned tasks with close to moderate supervision.
