The primary function of the Area Manager is to grow the territory, win new business, strengthen existing partnerships, and expand the region to justify a dedicated sales team. Essential Job Responsibilities
Lead business development activities in the assigned geographic area Sell and service key accounts Generate value by sharing ideas and identifying long-term opportunities to grow the organization Develop a business plan and sales strategy for the region to achieve company sales goals and profitability Assist in the development and implementation of marketing plans as needed Provide timely feedback to senior management regarding performance Create and conduct proposal presentations and RFP responses Control expenses to meet company guidelines Adhere to all company policies, procedures and business ethics codes and ensure they are communicated and implemented within the team Adhere to and support all safety policies and guidelines Perform other duties as assigned Required Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent Four (4) years of experience in technical sales and service in industrial water treatment or specialty chemicals industry Two (2) years of team leadership experience Working knowledge of cooling tower systems, steam generation, and chilled/hot/process water closed-loop systems Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint; ability to learn internal business systems Strong verbal and written communication skills Strong business development and relationship-building skills Mechanical/technical aptitude Ability to work independently and without supervision; effectively plan, organize and execute activities Valid driver\'s license and adherence to company standards for operating motor vehicle Ability and willingness to physically provide service at customer facilities within various environments Ability and willingness to travel overnight 3-4 nights per month Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor\'s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related field Four (4)+ years of experience in technical sales and service in industrial water treatment or specialty chemical industry Two (2)+ years of team leadership experience Proven history of achieving and exceeding sales goals About Apex
