Overview

Security Manager role at Miami Marlins and loanDepot park. The Security Manager is responsible for supervising all shifts of the 24/7 security staff and monitoring the operation of the 24/7 Command Center. The individual supervises all technical and computer-related security systems with the Miami Marlins Security Department, protects ballpark infrastructure and assets, and oversees shift security personnel. As directed by the Director of Security, the Security Manager coordinates training, establishes work schedules, manages time and attendance reports, and documents incidents. The role also encompasses oversight of general liability and security operations related to safeguarding the facility, its patrons, and the organization’s interests during game day.

Responsibilities

Develops personal leadership and upholds leadership competencies: integrity, self-discipline, communication, trustworthiness, teamwork, conflict management, problem-solving and judgment, and initiative.

Manage Security Department projects, including updating Emergency Action Plans, Post Orders, and Best Stadium Operating Procedures (BSOP) required by Major League Baseball; write and update Post Orders; collaborate with other managers to meet deadlines.

Develop, organize, and facilitate incident response tabletop exercises for technical and non-technical audiences; assess incident response capabilities with local, state, and federal responders.

Lead security investigations and coordinate with personnel to gather information for investigations.

Support and operate the 24/7 Command Center, including software, Redtail, Avigilon, access control, video systems, credentialing and proximity card programs.

Deploy, monitor, and supervise security resources to prevent or minimize property loss, property damage, personal injury, or negative impacts on the organization.

Conduct investigations into incidents, accidents, security issues, and safety matters; provide detailed reports to Miami Marlins Management, Director of Security, and Risk/Legal as required.

Ensure understanding and compliance with policies and procedures by subordinate personnel.

Plan ongoing in-service training for all security personnel and ensure attendance and compliance with certifications and required training.

Maintain all files, logs, and reports for required periods and ensure quick retrieval of information.

Navigate electronic security systems including cameras, access control, fire alarm control panels, intrusion detection, incident management software, and other systems used by the Security Department.

Assist with security aspects related to home and visiting teams.

Assume additional duties as needed and in the absence of the Director of Security.

Qualifications & Requirements

Intermediate to high level of computer skills.

Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Law Enforcement, Criminology, or a related field.

Ability to conduct preliminary investigations and prepare complete reports.

Ability to maintain self-control and execute duties professionally and fairly.

Fluently bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

Ability to walk up to four hours per day.

Able to work weekends and holidays.

Education & Experience Guidelines

Background in corporate security, loss prevention, or law enforcement with experience in diverse public venues; budget management and supervision experience is important.

Minimum of five years in Security/Law Enforcement/Military or related field, with additional supervisory experience.
