Senior Application Developer (Smartsheet)
to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have experience with Smartsheet, SharePoint development, and API integrations across Enterprise Tools and modern data management frameworks. The Senior Application Developer codes and develops workflows in enterprise applications, engineers solutions, researches, and plans for adoption of new applications to provide a competitive advantage to the company. The Senior Application Developer establishes practices, procedures, and concepts related to Enterprise Applications as it relates to the organization. This role supports initiatives to drive innovation, enable seamless integrations, and develop a robust digital ecosystem to enhance business operations.
Responsibilities
Smartsheet Customization & Automation: Create and manage advanced Smartsheet workflows and integrations to support project management, team collaboration, and process automation, including backups as necessary.
Application Development & Customization: Design, develop, test, debug, and implement scalable solutions for enterprise applications, including SharePoint and Smartsheet, aligned with business objectives.
API Development & Integration: Build, maintain, and optimize APIs and scripts to connect enterprise applications, SaaS platforms (e.g., Smartsheet), and custom solutions.
Problem Solving: Diagnose issues and deliver efficient solutions to improve system reliability and performance.
System Optimization: Assess the current enterprise tool suite and recommend technical or process improvements, including upgrades, retirement, or consolidation of applications.
Requirements Analysis: Gather, prioritize, and validate requirements from stakeholders across departments.
Functional Testing Leadership: Lead functional and user acceptance testing for system implementations.
Technical Documentation: Create detailed specifications, workflows, and process documentation for technical and non-technical audiences.
Cross-Department Collaboration: Liaise between business units and IT to align applications and workflows with business needs.
Data Analysis and Reporting: Analyze system data and generate actionable insights for decision-making.
Risk Awareness: Identify and communicate risks related to system changes and recommend mitigation strategies.
Security Awareness: Collaborate with Security on cyber-security issues such as incident response and vulnerability management.
Quality & Compliance: Ensure applications and integrations comply with security policies, data privacy standards, and best practices. Familiarity with developing within a DoD environment, particularly Azure GovCloud and NIST 800-218.
Required Experience
Enterprise Tool Expertise: Proficiency in Smartsheet functionality, including advanced automation, reporting, and dashboard development.
Development Expertise: Knowledge of programming languages such as Java, C#, Python, or other relevant frameworks.
Analytical Expertise: Ability to evaluate complex systems and processes and identify improvements.
Requirements Management: Skill in prioritizing and detailing project requirements for all stakeholders.
Technical Writing Skills: Ability to produce detailed documentation and user guides.
Problem-Solving Ability: Capable of resolving intermediate-to-complex system issues with innovative solutions.
Data Analysis Competency: Experience with data analysis tools such as Smartsheet, Power BI, Power Automate, Power Apps and Microsoft 365.
Stakeholder Communication: Comfortable engaging with business leaders and technical teams to align objectives.
Process Improvement: Expertise in identifying inefficiencies and recommending workflow improvements.
Leadership Skills: Ability to lead testing efforts and drive projects forward.
Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with enterprise applications (Smartsheet, SharePoint Online, Microsoft 365) and tools for system analysis and management.
Adaptability: Thrive in dynamic environments with evolving priorities.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems or related technical degree; or Bachelor's degree in a non-related field with adequate training and experience
5-8+ years of related experience
Required Clearance
Ability to obtain a Secret Clearance
