About The Role Springer Nature is seeking an Associate or Senior Editor to join the Nature Energy Team. This position involves working with the Nature Journals to manage editorial processes, with a focus on energy systems research. The ideal candidate will be a critical thinker with deep subject understanding, curiosity, and a willingness to learn about related areas. Responsibilities Handle original research papers and work closely with editor teams on all aspects of the editorial process, including manuscript selection and overseeing peer review. Make well-reasoned editorial decisions on submitted manuscripts with expert advice. Contribute to content and strategy in the Nature Energy area. Commission, edit content such as Reviews, Perspectives, Comments, or write editorials. Liaise extensively with editors at other journals in the Nature family and with experts in the international scientific community. Attend conferences and visit research institutions. Experience, Skills & Qualifications Research experience to PhD level (or equivalent) in Energy system modeling or energy system engineering. A keen interest in research both within and beyond your specialty. The ability to absorb and understand new areas of research. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Time management and work prioritization skills. Postdoctoral experience preferred. Expertise in related disciplines in addition to those listed above. Salary US Annualized Base Salary Range: Associate Editor: $80,000; Senior Editor: $95,000. The offer may vary based on experience, education, and skill level.
