Avanade is seeking a highly skilled Lead Azure Software Engineer to guide a team of software engineers in designing, building, and maintaining scalable cloud applications. The ideal candidate will provide hands-on technical leadership, drive architectural excellence, and foster collaboration across teams to deliver secure and high-performing Azure-based solutions. Key Responsibilities
Lead, mentor, and provide technical direction to a team of entry- to mid-level software engineers. Collaborate across multiple teams and stakeholders to deliver robust and scalable cloud applications. Develop, debug, and review secure, high-quality production code using Python and Azure SDK. Drive creative software design, development, and problem-solving efforts. Identify opportunities for automation and operational stability improvements. Conduct vendor evaluations and participate in architectural design assessments. Promote a culture of innovation, inclusion, and continuous improvement within the team. Provide input to leadership regarding budgets, technical strategy, and process optimization. Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience with 5+ years in software engineering. 2+ years of experience leading technical teams to deliver complex software solutions. Strong coding proficiency in Python and Azure SDK. Hands-on experience with Azure services (Storage, Compute, Integration, IAM, Network). Expertise in Terraform (Infrastructure as Code) and Azure-native cloud solutions. Experience building CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, Spinnaker, or similar tools. Strong understanding of Azure governance, security policies, and compliance. Familiarity with version control tools like Git. Proven track record in system design, testing, and operational stability. Preferred Skills
Exposure to Azure AI services. Knowledge of containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes). Familiarity with the services industry and enterprise IT systems.
