$80,000.00/yr - $110,000.00/yr Direct message the job poster from SoCal Eye SoCal Eye is seeking a skilled and hands-on Revenue Cycle Manager to lead and strengthen the billing operations of a multi-specialty Ophthalmology practice and ASC with a strong reputation for clinical excellence. This individual will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the revenue cycle — from charge capture and claims submission to denials management, collections, and financial reporting. The practice is at an important growth stage and requires a leader who can both improve the current processes and implement scalable systems to support expansion into new services such as retina. The Revenue Cycle Manager will partner closely with the physicians, administrative leadership, and external accountant to improve transparency, reporting, and cash flow performance, while ensuring compliance and patient satisfaction. Key Responsibilities

Revenue Cycle Oversight: Manage all day-to-day billing operations including charge capture, coding, claims submission, denials, collections, and payment posting. Supervise/manage 5-8 employees. Oversee the timely and accurate submission of clean claims and minimize days in accounts receivable. Lead denial management efforts, identify root causes, and implement sustainable solutions. Maintain oversight of payer relationships, reimbursements, and contract compliance. Develop and track key metrics such as AR days, denial rates, collection rates, and cash flow trends. Partner with leadership to provide monthly financial and revenue reports that go beyond P&L summaries, offering meaningful insights into growth opportunities and operational efficiency. Process Improvement & Compliance: Review and refine billing workflows, documentation, and staff responsibilities to ensure efficiency and accountability. Conduct regular audits of charge capture and coding accuracy to maintain compliance with payer requirements and regulatory standards. Implement best practices in billing and collection processes to reduce errors and improve the patient financial experience. Stay informed on Medicare, Medi-Cal, managed care, and commercial payer policy updates, ensuring practice-wide compliance. Supervise and develop the billing department, providing structure, training, and performance feedback. Collaborate closely with clinical and administrative leaders to ensure clear communication between departments. Support leadership with strategic financial planning, including forecasting, benchmarking, and performance analysis. Participate in leadership meetings to present revenue insights, discuss workflow improvements, and align goals across departments. Qualifications

Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in revenue cycle management within a healthcare setting. At least 2 years in a supervisory or management role leading billing or RCM teams of 5-8 employees. Strong understanding of ophthalmology or similar specialty billing preferred (knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, and payer rules required). Experience managing billing for multi-provider, multi-location practices. Proficiency with EHR and practice management systems (Nextech or similar preferred). Proven ability to analyze financial data and present clear, actionable insights. Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Finance, or related field preferred. Coding certification preferred. Hands-on and detail-oriented, willing to dive into the process while maintaining a strategic view. Strong communicator who can collaborate effectively with physicians, administrative staff, and external partners. Comfortable in a dynamic environment that is growing and evolving — including process redesign and team restructuring. Experienced in building systems, managing change, and developing staff in practices that are stabilizing or expanding. Understands both the operational and cultural dynamics of physician-owned organizations. The base salary range for this position is $80,000 - $110,000, dependent upon skills and experience.
