Job Responsibilities:
As the Manager of Business Development, you will be responsible for driving revenue growth through new client acquisition and expansion of existing customer relationships. This role combines leadership, strategy, and personal sales execution to ensure the team consistently meets performance and effort expectations.
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership & Accountability –
Lead, coach, and hold Business Development Representatives (BDRs) accountable to pipeline, activity, and revenue targets. Foster a high-performance culture focused on effort, results, and continuous improvement.
Player/Coach Role
– Actively sell alongside the team by prospecting, building relationships, and closing new business, while setting the standard for sales excellence.
Pipeline & Sales Cycle Management
– Oversee and optimize the team’s sales pipeline across all industry verticals. Ensure opportunities are qualified, progressed, and executed with discipline across the full sales cycle—from lead generation to contract execution.
Strategic Sales Planning –
Develop and execute sales strategies that align with LoadDelivered’s growth goals, including targeting key verticals, optimizing RFP processes, and driving margin expansion.
Customer Growth & Retention –
Manage both new business development and expansion of existing accounts, ensuring strong customer relationships and sustained revenue growth.
Cross-Functional Collaboration –
Partner with Carrier Services, Operations, and Leadership teams to design pricing strategies, execute customer onboarding, and deliver exceptional service.
Training & Development –
Provide ongoing coaching and mentorship to develop sales skills, industry knowledge, and strategic thinking within the team.
CRM & Data Management –
Ensure accurate use of Salesforce and sales technology tools to track activity, manage opportunities, and drive data-driven decision making.
Market Knowledge –
Stay current on industry trends, customer needs, and multi-modal transportation solutions (truckload, LTL, intermodal, drayage, etc.) to position LoadDelivered as a trusted partner.
Face-to-Face Engagement –
Represent LoadDelivered in client meetings, conferences, and networking opportunities to build trust, strengthen relationships, and win new business.
What we’re looking for
5+ years of sales experience (inside or outside), with a track record of success in logistics or supply chain required
A minimum of 2 years of management or leadership experience is preferred
Hands-on approach to business – act as a player/coach
Excellent communication skills – cross-departmental collaboration with department leaders
Attention to detail and accuracy
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong organizational skills
