Interpret and work with various engineering drawings and specifications for fabricating composite laminate and bonded composite panels. Layup prepreg composite panels according to design specifications. Perform structural bonding of cured composite laminate panels using various types of two-part epoxy adhesives and sealant materials. Prepare and maintain molds, tooling plates, caul plates, panel bonding fixtures, and hand tools used in composite layup and adhesive bonding. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workspace in compliance with safety procedures and OSHA regulations. Use calibrated dimensional inspection tools (e.g., calipers, scales, micrometers) for precise measurements. Record and present specimen dimension data using dimensional inspection equipment prior to testing. Operate electromechanical test frames, test fixturing, thermal test chambers, environmental conditioning chambers, and relevant software. Perform calculations in both standard and metric units to support testing and fabrication processes. Software/Tools Used
Micrometers Shimadzu, Test Works software MS Office Tools, especially Excel Qualifications
Experience with composite fabrication and laboratory environment, with ability to work with minimal supervision. Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications for composite layup and bonding. Familiarity with dimensional inspection tools and reporting.
