This role reports to the Manager of Electrical Services and focuses on safety excellence while supporting controls, automation, and technology for aggregate and asphalt plants. Responsibilities
Learn and integrate the company’s safety culture, aggregate mining processes, and production facility operations. PLC programming, troubleshooting, and maintenance along with HMI integration. Develop control logic, detailed drawings, and documentation for new and existing systems. Interface with Ignition and Canary automation and data historian software. Provide detailed drawings of control systems and logic. Assist in the coordination of outside electrical and controls services. Schedule work to meet completion dates, technical specifications, functional requirements, and budget constraints. Maintain and update accurate program databases. Debug and troubleshoot field automation issues. Travel up to 10% domestically for plant visits and program troubleshooting and startup. Perform additional duties as assigned by management. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate technical field; electrical/controls engineering degree preferred. Minimum 3 years of related engineering and programming experience. Aggregate industry experience preferred. Working knowledge of process flows and interlocking in processing plants or related fields. Programming experience with Ignition, Canary, Siemens, and Allen Bradley automation software. Working knowledge of underground mining practices and equipment. Working knowledge of MS Windows systems (Excel, Word, Project, PowerPoint). Ability to analyze production processes and identify enhancements that eliminate bottlenecks and increase efficiency.
