Working Title: SENIOR COMMUNITY HEALTH NURSE - 64003948
Performs the following duties as outlined in the Florida Nurse Practice Act and within Scope of Practice for a Registered Nurse:
Observes, obtains complete medical history, assesses, provides nursing diagnosis, provides intervention with SOP, and evaluates clinic patients.
Administers medications and treatments as prescribed or authorized by a duly licensed practitioner.
Provides client instruction and education in the clinic and community.
Assists Physician, Nurse Practitioner, or Physician’s Assistant with procedures.
Follows protocol with regards to “nurse issuance” which allows for performing patient assessments, ordering, and issuing medications when certain conditions exist.
Performs venipunctures on patients for ordered labs.
Administers immunizations to infants, children, and adults.
Interprets physician orders and follows through treatment.
Performs epidemiology (EPI), tuberculosis (TB), and sexually transmitted infection (STI) surveillance and investigation.
Other work-related duties as required which include but are not limited to the following:
Sterilization of medical equipment
Performs follow up with regards to lab results via phone and is responsible for maintaining consistent inventory of lab supplies and ordering of supplies.
Performs on‑call after‑hours emergency phone triage for commercial and governmental insurance agencies for Baker County clients and remains available to work during off‑duty periods. Performs any other related additional duties as required.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge of nursing laws and regulations. Nursing skills including but not limited to triage, administering subcutaneous and intramuscular injections, assessing vital signs, conducting physical assessments, phlebotomy. Communication skills. Time management skills.
Qualifications: Minimum
Licensure as a registered nurse in accordance with Florida Statue 464 or eligible to practice nursing in accordance with Florida Administrative Code 210‑8.22 or 8.27 and one year of experience in providing nursing services.
Preferred
5 years of nursing experience
