Senior Financial Compliance Analyst, Post-Award - Grants & Contracts, Office of Sponsored Programs (Remote Eligible)
at the University of Virginia. The position is eligible to be remote. Responsibilities
Manage post award financials for both routine and complex sponsored awards including contracts, grants, fellowships, cooperative agreements and subcontracts. Ensure that sponsored research programs are in compliance with University, sponsor, state and federal regulations; provide guidance to faculty, departmental administrators and the OSP Post Award team. Verify and ensure the accuracy of financial transactions on sponsored projects. Resolve financial issues with sponsored programs in coordination with Sponsors, University administrators or faculty; recommend appropriate changes. Provide technical and administrative assistance to faculty and administrators on sponsor regulations. Collaborate with the OSP Post-Award Financial Compliance Assistant Director and Financial Compliance Manager on system upgrades or strategic realignment to increase quality and/or efficiency in achieving financial compliance objectives. Act as a liaison between the Office of Sponsored Programs and units concerning financial and accounting functions; ensure good stewardship over the University\'s sponsored funding. Provide guidance to departments on financial management of sponsored programs and ensure sponsor and University policies and procedures are followed consistently to minimize the University’s risk related to non-compliance with federal requirements. Other duties as assigned. Minimum Requirements
Education: Bachelor\'s degree. Experience: Five years of job-related experience in grants and contracts. Four additional years of experience may be accepted in lieu of degree. Physical Demands: This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. This role may require traveling some distance to attend meetings and/or programs. Preferred Qualifications
Education: Degree in a Finance-related field of study. Licensure: Certified Research Administrator (CRA) certification, or professional certifications in finance and accounting, such as CMA, CFA, CTP, and/or CPA.
