Supports the Testing Manager to manage the daily operations of Alliance Lab Testing Services at assigned lab(s)/location(s). Testing may include hematology, chemistry, urinalysis, and coagulation. Oversee personnel including training, engagement, development, onboarding and offboarding. Work in conjunction with HR on required personnel action. Ensure the team maintains competency on instruments/equipment and provides bench coverage when needed due to PTO, sick calls, short staffing, etc. Participate in the Alliance Lab quality improvement/quality assurance program in coordination with the Lab Quality team and the Alliance Lab Technical & Compliance team. Monitor and document quality indicators to identify areas for improvement and report to the Laboratory QI/Integrity Committee. Participate in recruiting, hiring, training, and evaluations on the team. Support ongoing documentation of continued competency and continuing education for laboratory staff. Coordinate proficiency testing as required by lab accrediting agencies. Participate in policy and procedure development, implementation, and revisions with the Testing Manager and the Alliance Lab Technical & Compliance team. Support ongoing compliance with safety rules and regulations in accordance with institution, state, and federal standards. Manage maintenance of instrumentation and inventories. Make recommendations for the selection of new laboratory instruments, related equipment, and supplies. Qualifications
Required: Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology/Medical Laboratory Science/Clinical Technology or related physical/biological/chemical science Medical Laboratory Scientist, Medical Technologist, or an equivalent certification with certified maintenance of continuing education through ASCP, AMT, or AAB. 4 years of laboratory experience performing testing on human samples At least 1 year of previous experience in a lead/senior tech/coordinator/supervisor/manager role (must be verified by title) in a clinical lab with a total of 3 years of clinical lab experience performing high complexity testing in lieu of 4 total years may also be acceptable. Knowledge of CLIA and CAP regulations. Demonstrated direct or indirect leadership of lab projects (new test validation, process improvement, employee engagement, etc.). Excellent communication skills (written, oral). Proficient with MS Office Suite. Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment. Preferred: Master's Degree in lab science, healthcare administration, business, or related field CAP Inspection Team Member Certification Meet the CLIA requirements for a general supervisor, technical consultant, and technical supervisor in hematology and/or chemistry. The annual base salary range for this position is $99,487.00 to $157,227.00, with pay based on experience and qualifications. This position is not eligible for H1-B sponsorship. Relocation assistance may be available. 1.0 FTE, Monday through Friday.
