Overview
Title: Lead Pricing Analyst KBR is investing in its Pricing Team to support the Readiness and Sustainment (R&S) business unit. The Pricing Team partners with business development, capture, and operations to help increase company revenue. The role is fully remote within the Continental United States with occasional travel for proposals, meetings, training, or other events. Job Summary
The Lead Pricing Analyst will lead the preparation of cost proposals and all accompanying financial and required documentation in support of contract bids. Responsibilities include overseeing the Price Volume, generating cost schedules and contractual elements for proposals ranging from $10M to $5B. The role ensures cost proposals clearly convey win themes and competitive pricing as determined during strategic reviews, and drives continuous improvement of cost proposal processes through quality control reviews for other analysts. The role requires expert interpretation of RFPs and application of government regulations (FAR, DFARS, DLA SCA, and other regulations). The role interacts primarily with Capture Managers, Capture Team members, and other Business Unit and Leadership Team personnel. The position reports to the Pricing Manager, R&S New Business Pursuits. State-specific travel requirements may apply. This position can be performed remotely from any location in the continental United States. Roles and Responsibilities
Own the entire cost volume from start to finish, coordinating with Contracts, Procurement, and Business Development to develop pricing strategy based on the solicitation. Provide cost & pricing support on a full range of proposals, including domestic and overseas opportunities. Review solicitations to ensure all cost volume requirements are clear and develop clarifying questions for customer submission. Develop pricing models for large proposals with minimal supervision; oversee cost model and narratives development and present management briefings on large complex proposals. Provide leadership and supervision while coordinating and directing other pricing staff on complex proposals. Coordinate schedules, analyze solicitation and contract requirements, terms and conditions, Representations and Certifications to ensure compliance with solicitation requirements and corporate policies. Determine anticipated direct costs and indirect rates for various proposal types to comply with bid requirements and costing standards. Perform pricing analysis to inform recruitment strategy and other technical decisions. Propose cost-objective optimal price points for bids, ensuring profitability targets are met. Assess financial implications of teaming, staffing, and procurement decisions for bids and post-award implementation. Participate in all proposal color team reviews (Pink, Red, Gold), Post Proposal, and Post Award reviews; prepare color team review materials and present cost strategy to executive management. Review and analyze estimates for inclusion in the cost proposal and maintain audit-ready files. Collect inputs from global supply chain management on partners and budget reviews, ensuring partner documentation is complete. Review draft and final award documents for consistency of financial data with cost proposals. Perform final quality check with business development teams prior to proposal submission. Maintain cost and pricing models and ensure alignment with solicitation specifications. Facilitate accuracy and consistency in budget data presentation; provide analyses to the project implementation team. Prepare and deliver cost trainings to organizational stakeholders and build internal capacity for cost proposal preparation. Ability to work independently, meet hard deadlines, and collaborate across the organization. Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree and eight (8) or more years of direct US Government pricing experience. Strong analytical skills and business acumen to develop sound financial analysis and strategic pricing recommendations. Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment with changing deadlines and inquiries. Excellent organizational, written, and oral communication skills with the ability to handle multiple assignments. Recent experience preparing proposals for U.S. Government customers using FAR, DFARS, and CAS regulations/compliance. Experience with CPFF, CPAF, T&M, FFP, and FPLOE contract types; cost/price proposal narrative writing and responses to pricing evaluation notices, etc. Attention to detail with strategic thinking in a fast-paced environment. MS Excel and MS Word proficiency; familiarity with MS PowerPoint and Adobe Acrobat. Preferred Qualifications
Experience developing price-to-win analyses, customer assessments, competitive intelligence, and presenting pricing strategy recommendations to senior leadership. Experience pricing proposals including direct hire and subcontracted staffing (CONUS and OCONUS), union labor, third-country nationals, and local nationals. Experience collaborating with Legal, Tax, and Human Resources to ensure price proposals comply with local labor laws and taxes. Prior audit/compliance experience related to cost estimating principles and practices. Experience pricing OCONUS Base Operations Support Services and Logistics proposals. KBR Benefits
