Job Description NBC Sports Next, a division of Versant, is where sports and technology intersect. We’re fueled by our mission to innovate, create larger-than-life events and connect with sports fans through technology. We are a subdivision of NBC Sports and host technology platforms and digital applications for Youth & Recreational Sports; Golf; and Emerging Media. This role will be part of the Fandango team. Fandango includes the online ticketing platform, Rotten Tomatoes, and Fandango at Home (formerly Vudu).
The
VP, Marketing - Fandango
will lead the Marketing team’s efforts across the Fandango portfolio (Fandango, Fandango at Home, Rotten Tomatoes) by working cross-functionally to drive the vision and execution of the team’s marketing strategy, go-to-market capabilities, and marketing partnerships. The ideal candidate should be detailed, capable of handling multiple projects, and able to prioritize in a fast-paced environment. Excellent communication skills are essential, with frequent, polished interactions with executive and C-suite leaders expected.
Core Focus Areas
Brand Marketing – Lead the brand and product marketing vision across Fandango, Fandango at Home, and Rotten Tomatoes, articulating brand positioning and executing campaigns that drive awareness, engagement, and growth.
Exhibitor Marketing – Guide marketing initiatives with theatrical exhibitors around ticketing and studio-driven promotions.
Platform Marketing – Develop strategic plans with platform partners (e.g., Roku, Samsung) to deepen relationships and drive viewership and transactions for Fandango at Home.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Develop comprehensive long- and short-term business plans, including strategy, marketing, and budget planning for all Fandango brands.
Lead and develop a high-performing Marketing team with collaboration, mentorship, and strategic vision; set priorities and ensure timely delivery.
Adopt a consumer-centric marketing planning approach by identifying needs to produce strong strategies and executable vision.
Collaborate with Product Management, Technology, Legal, and brand leaders to refine value proposition and ensure activations support positioning.
Create and execute strategies to drive awareness, engagement, product adoption, and market leadership.
Lead go-to-market strategies for dynamic product initiatives across viewer experiences.
Shape omnichannel campaign strategy with clear objectives, messaging, creative direction, and audience strategy; partner with Portfolio Marketing teams to execute across paid, earned, owned, social, and experiential channels.
Partner with Consumer Insights, Analytics, and Finance to understand customer behavior and support annual P&L planning.
Establish KPIs for product launches and ensure delivery against priorities.
Ensure alignment of teams with marketing priorities and timely delivery with clear strategic focus.
Qualifications Basic Requirements
10+ years of marketing experience in brand and/or digital marketing; partner marketing experience a plus.
Proven track record in marketing within marketing, agency, media, or entertainment industries and launching campaigns.
Prior leadership and people management experience.
Experience working with product/technology teams and understanding how tech realities affect marketing.
Strong written and verbal communication skills with cross-functional and C-suite interaction.
Solid understanding of consumer needs and competitive landscape; excellent organizational and time management skills.
Collaborative, positive leader with a player-coach mindset and a no-ego culture; able to work with cross-functional teams and manage high-pressure situations.
Ability to influence and align cross-functional stakeholders and ensure clear vision and execution across indirect reporting lines.
Experience partnering with creative, media, social, and PR teams to deliver measurable results; strong creative sensibility for asset development.
Additional Requirements
Hybrid: This position is hybrid, generally contributing from the Universal City, CA office at least three days per week.
Some travel may be required (approximately 15%).
This position is eligible for company-sponsored benefits, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k), paid leave, tuition reimbursement, and other perks. Salary range is $200,500 - $235,000 (bonus and long-term incentive eligible).
