Overview Veeco is seeking a Data Center Infrastructure Engineer with knowledge of virtualization, Windows server operating systems and enterprise storage solutions to join its Infrastructure Operations team. This role will be responsible for overseeing parts of Veeco's data center infrastructure, including implementing, maintaining, and supporting relevant systems. This position will play a critical role in maintaining and enhancing Veeco's technology environment, which spans 20+ global sites in multiple countries.
Remote opportunity but will need to be available during Eastern Standard time business hours.
Responsibilities
Provide operational support for hypervisors, VDI, hyperconverged infrastructure, and physical server environments.
Troubleshoot and resolve service issues related to servers and operating systems.
Partner with the network infrastructure team to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
Collaborate with relevant teams to conduct capacity planning, optimize system performance, and disaster recovery exercises.
Knowledge of Nutanix AOS, Prism Central, Prism Element, AHV, Cisco Hardware, and VMware ESXi.
Oversee the infrastructure storage environment across multiple vendors, including Nutanix NUS, to ensure optimal performance and high availability.
Provide knowledge of storage replication, Veeam Backup, and high availability architecture.
Provide off‑hours support for operations and pre‑scheduled and emergency maintenance.
Oversee infrastructure monitoring for potential issues or impacts on system operations.
Collaborate with third‑party vendors to improve current and future enterprise environments.
Qualifications A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, along with 5 years of related experience, is required. 3+ years of experience in virtualization and hyper‑converged infrastructures is preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of Nutanix AHV, AOS, Prism Central, Prism Element, NUS, and associated technologies.
Commitment to staying updated with the latest virtualization technologies, especially Nutanix technologies, and industry trends through ongoing training and certification.
Strong logical and analytical thinker.
Detail‑oriented.
Efficient in root cause analysis and solution identification for remediation.
Ability to perform risk analysis of systems and provide solutions in a timely manner.
Exhibit poise and focus under stressful situations.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to work independently.
Implement best practices, strategies, methodologies, and approaches to systems administration tasks and complex projects.
Speak your mind when you find opportunities for technology or process improvement.
Develop repeatable standards and implementation processes to ensure product uniformity and quality.
Document, deploy, and improve new and existing infrastructure to continually improve Veeco's technology experience.
Work well in cross‑team troubleshooting efforts.

Salary and Benefits The expected salary range for this position is $94,068.00 - $112,882.00, plus a bonus opportunity. We will consider your location, experience, and other job‑related factors when determining your pay.
