Senior-level opportunity for an experienced Equities Electronic Trading Support Engineer to manage and support mission-critical trading platforms, including Direct Market Access (DMA) and Algorithmic Trading systems. This role collaborates closely with trading desks, sales teams, internal technology groups, and third-party vendors to ensure operational reliability across global electronic equities markets.
Responsibilities
Deliver real-time production support for DMA and algorithmic trading environments
Investigate and resolve FIX connectivity, order routing, and post-trade issues
Monitor order flows for anomalies and address trade rejects and workflow disruptions
Maintain and support market data feeds to ensure accuracy and performance
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Respond to and resolve inquiries from traders, sales teams, and execution desks
Support integration between EMS/OMS platforms and downstream systems
Coordinate with middle office for trade allocations and reconciliation processes
Monitoring and Vendor Interaction
Utilize observability platforms to proactively identify and mitigate risks
Liaise with vendors on support and integration of trading systems and market feeds
Oversee incident investigations and ensure root causes are identified and addressed
Change Management and Continuity Planning
Participate in platform rollouts, exchange upgrades, and vendor deployments
Contribute to disaster recovery tests and industry-wide business continuity exercises
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a technical or finance-related discipline
At least 7 years of professional experience in equities electronic trading support
Strong technical and functional knowledge of front-office trading environments
Familiarity with Unix shell scripting and SQL (considered advantageous)
Mandatory Requirements
Fluency in the FIX protocol and deep understanding of equities order lifecycle
Minimum of 7 years in a trading support role within equities markets
Hands-on experience supporting EMS/OMS platforms (e.g., Raptor, Fidessa, FlexTrade, Bloomberg EMSX)
Experience with market data feeds (e.g., Bloomberg, PICO, Refinitiv, exchange-provided feeds)
Familiarity with middle-office functions (allocations, booking, reconciliations)
Proficient in using observability tools such as Grafana, Splunk, OpenText/SiteScope/OBM
Strong communication and problem-solving skills in high-volume, low-latency environments
Preferred Qualifications
Exposure to DMA, DSA, SOR, and algorithmic trading strategies
Understanding of global exchange protocols and regulatory standards (e.g., Reg NMS, CAT, MiFID II)
