Hannaford Supermarkets started out as a fresh produce vendor in Portland, Maine and remains connected to those roots as a local market. Hannaford actively seeks out farmers and producers to join our Local program which celebrates local foods, the preservation of farmland, local traditions and local jobs. The connection to the source of fresh foods is core to the business, including documenting that all seafood products are sustainably harvested. Responsibilities

Observe and follow all company policies and established procedures. Maintain a neat, well-groomed personal appearance and follow company personal appearance policy. Assign fixed activities to Hannaford to Go associates during idle periods. Treat all associates with fairness, dignity, and respect. Assist in special projects and perform other functions as assigned by supervision. Ensure that return-to-stock items are handled promptly and with priority given to refrigerated and other perishable items. Support and comply with all company safety standards. Communicate any needed equipment repairs or maintenance. Keep work area free from debris and safety hazards. Bag or package merchandise according to policies and store in designated area for customer pickup. Control excessive use of store supplies such as ribbons, receipt tape, bags, labels and cleaning materials. Assist in prompt cleanup of spills and breakage of glass or plastic containers to eliminate hazards and prevent accidents. Be knowledgeable in and able to recognize differences between produce merchandise carried in the store. Record on designated forms any price discrepancies and/or items not on file; request price checks promptly as required by policy. Observe security standards by staying alert to customers' actions and behavior; report abnormal behavior to the manager or security. Process various sales transactions including cash, checks, Electronic Payments, WIC coupons, Food Stamps, manufacturers' coupons, gift cards, bottle deposits/refunds, and merchandise refunds in accordance with policies and legal requirements. Secure registers, Mobile POS equipment, and RF units when unattended; protect company assets. Maintain general housekeeping and sanitation standards per store policy and health regulations. Perform all other duties as assigned. Qualifications

Effective communication and customer service skills. Must meet minimum age requirements to perform specific job functions (18 years of age). Demonstrated ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job. Demonstrated ability to perform the technical requirements for Hannaford to Go Service; ability to lead and coach others; strong leadership skills. Physical Requirements

Perform repetitive hand and arm motions while standing/walking the majority of the shift. Bend and lift products weighing up to 15 pounds continuously, 25 pounds frequently and 50 pounds on occasion. Push or pull up to 75 pounds on occasion. Work in and out of inclement weather when necessary. Gather up to five shopping carts and push them to designated areas. Handle a variety of substances related to cleaning materials, packaging, fresh produce, house plants/flowers and cleaners. Have sufficient visual acuity to read the RF unit display and check IDs, checks, invoices and other documents. Preferred Requirements

Promote customer goodwill by providing high standards of customer service. Manage online orders and schedules for Hannaford to Go associates to meet traffic requirements and minimize customer inconvenience. Provide feedback to store leadership on HTG operational issues. Partner with Department Managers to ensure fresh orders are handled properly. Assist customers picking up orders at designated pickup location. Handle cash pickups and change orders as requested; log as required. Verify customer IDs and store policies regarding checks and the sale of tobacco/alcoholic beverages. Provide refunds, over-rings and other transactions requiring approvals or overrides. Supervise performance of all Hannaford to Go associates. Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position, with or without reasonable accommodations.
