Senior Architect-AI/ML/Gen AI – Bank of America Join a groundbreaking team at Bank of America, at the forefront of innovation in AI. Position focuses on leadership, technical direction, and oversight to multiple initiatives delivering Gen AI technology capabilities and solutions. Responsibilities include developing solutions and processes for multiple organizations based on their design/architectural/Agile/DevOps practices. Define architectural vision and solution that supports the strategic outcomes of the Business’ Products and Services. Define target operating environment, design for client resiliency, assist with solution design, and define non-functional requirements. Collaborate with stakeholders and service providers aligned to the Business’ objectives, evaluate design impact, and contribute to the architecture roadmap.
Responsibilities
Work across the business, operations and technology to create the solution intent and architectural vision for complex solutions and prioritize functional and non-functional requirements into a technology backlog to enable the technology roadmap and functionality to support evolving capabilities and services Contribute to the architecture roadmap of defined domains (Business, Application, Data, and Technology) in support of the product roadmap and development of best practices including standardized templates Clarify the architecture, assist with system design to support implementation, and provide solution options to resolve architectural impediments Facilitate solution-driven discussions, lead the design of complex architectures, and find creative solutions through domain knowledge, experiments, and proofs of concepts while ensuring architecture is flexible, modular, and adaptable Educate team members on technology practices, standardization strategies, and best practices to create innovative solutions Support the team in selecting the technology stack required for solutions and help select preferred technology products Perform design and code reviews to ensure non-functional requirements (security, performance, maintainability, scalability, usability, reliability) are met Ensure design and engineering approach for complex features aligns with the larger portfolio; accountable for availability, stability, scalability, security, and recoverability Enable CI/CD capabilities and engage with technical stakeholders for efficient CI/CD pipeline functioning Guide and influence teams on design and best practices for high code performance Provide end-to-end delivery of complex features for single or multiple teams at the program level Conduct research, design prototyping and exploration activities evaluating new toolsets for release management, CI/CD, and features Work with stakeholders to establish high-level solution needs and with architects for technical requirements Collaborate with product teams, data analysts and data scientists to design and build solutions Design and execute implementation plans to move forward strategically while ensuring current technology stack meets needs Manage multiple priorities and coordinate with teams worldwide Participate actively in sessions with business stakeholders and agile teams Lead architectural decisions for an advanced analytics platform, create strategy and roadmaps, and present to tech and non-tech leaders Coach and mentor team members
Required Qualifications
8+ years of experience in platform development, architecture, and strategy for data science, modeling, advanced analytics, and Gen AI Experience building end-to-end analytics platforms with self-service data science, big data, and analytics; end-to-end ML pipelines including data prep, model building, training, deployment, scoring, monitoring, and optimization Experience gathering requirements from technical and business users, creating BRD, validating capabilities with stakeholders, and researching feasibility with architects and engineers Ability to review technical designs for alignment with architecture principles and standards; own architectural decisions and artifacts; clear communication with team and stakeholders Collaboration with product teams, data analysts and data scientists to design and build solutions Strong understanding of modern open-source data science platform architecture (storage/compute, notebooks, containers, toolsets) Hands-on experience implementing CI/CD and automation in the Atlassian ecosystem Knowledge of metadata management, data lineage, and data governance principles Experience designing and building full-stack solutions using distributed computing Design, build and deploy streaming and batch data pipelines with Kafka, Spark, and YARN
Desired Qualifications
Experience delivering AI/ML, data and analytics platform capabilities with open-source technologies, focusing on Gen AI model serving, RAG frameworks, AI BI, and MCP modules for enterprise data systems
