Our team combines medical and recovery-oriented treatment to stabilize individuals in crisis and connect them to community-based resources for ongoing recovery. Responsibilities

Direct, coordinate, and provide medical/clinical services to specified individuals (youth and adults) within the facility, including intervention, psychiatric evaluation and assessment, differential diagnosis, treatment planning, medication management, engagement, family meetings, supportive psychotherapy, individual education, risk assessment, and discharge planning. Serve as the attending clinician to specified individuals. Complete initial psychiatric assessments, crisis interventions, family interventions, focused crisis diagnostic assessments, assessments of capacity for consent to treatment, risk assessments, individual education, progress toward treatment goals, and discharge planning. Document progress in the clinical record, including admission orders, progress notes, and discharge orders. Oversee delivery of medication education and consent according to policy. Order laboratory tests as needed; review health assessments, obtain medical history, and conduct focused physical examinations as indicated. Initiate contact with Primary Care Physicians and Emergency Room clinicians according to guidelines. Assess individuals' needs and guide the clinical team while managing treatment plan updates; initiate contact with Outpatient Behavioral Health Providers as required; review and utilize crisis team documents. Provide information to the clinical team regarding inpatient utilization and employ appropriate medications based on best practices. Collaborate with other personnel to ensure appropriate treatment modalities and coordinate with outside psychiatric providers in crisis and inpatient services; review involuntary petitions and coordinate with the legal system for Involuntary Evaluation and Treatment where applicable. Participate in medical staff meetings and required meetings; perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications

What You'll Bring: Nurse Practitioner Unrestricted Registered Nursing license in the State of Virginia or a multistate license Master’s level certification in Psychiatric Mental Health (PMHNP) and accredited NP program Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) by Virginia Joint Boards of Nursing and Medicine Licensed by the Virginia Board of Nursing and National Certifications Unrestricted DEA license and registration with Virginia PMP Current DEA registration with Schedule III authority Physician Assistant Completion of an accredited Physician Assistant program Licensed by the Virginia Board of Medicine and National Certification Unrestricted DEA license Mandatory vaccination policy compliance or approved exemption prior to start date Ability to perform Safe Clinch patient restraint techniques Complete credentialing within required time, including NPI, Medallion enrollment, Medicare enrollment, and other necessary credentials State of Virginia Fingerprint Clearance Pass VA DBHDS background check Pass VA DSS Central Registry Search It would be great if you had: Nurse Practitioner: Dual certified as Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP); Doctorate of Nursing Practice; experience in addiction treatment and crisis mental health; experience with family health treatment for children, adolescents, and/or adults Physician Assistant: DEA X license; experience in addiction recovery; experience in crisis mental health and/or family health treatment for children, adolescents, and/or adults
