Overview
Manager, Clinical Documentation Integrity at Texas Children’s Hospital. We’re searching for a Manager of Clinical Documentation Integrity, someone who works well in a fast-paced setting. The role focuses on broader, department-level interface with physician groups and Physician Revenue Advisors and will be focused on clinical quality. The manager will help the CDSs implement and train any new and existing software applications, perform tertiary level review of accounts, run reports and analyze data, and create processes for improvement and efficiency. You will work closely with team members to perform audits of their work, education opportunities, and Physician education opportunities. You will work closely with the Coding and Quality teams on initiatives as assigned and other special projects as assigned.
Responsibilities
Perform concurrent and retrospective tertiary level reviews on specific types of opportunities. Run and review reports through several sources and utilize information to analyze data and key metrics to identify potential opportunities for CDI staff and physicians, strategize approach and process refinements to capture opportunity within the CDS team (prioritization, assignment, etc.), and track progress of the CDI team in capturing opportunities and prioritizing workload effectively. Develop and oversee new hire training and orientation programs for new CDSs. Track technology issues with process tools and coordinate with IS on updates. Track query escalation process, CDS/Coder collaboration, etc. Lead weekly huddles or monthly meetings for CDI and Coding teams. Provide feedback and educational growth opportunities for the overall CDI program. Provide feedback to physician advisor(s) on provider engagement/response. Support the creation and presentation of targeted physician education. Manage, ensure competencies, and evaluate the activities of assigned staff. Reporting and analysis of data for CDI program.
Qualifications
Required bachelor’s degree Licenses/Certifications RN - Lic-Registered Nurses by the Texas Board of Nursing or Nursing Licensure Compact RHIA - Cert-Reg Health Information Admins by AHIMA RHIT - Cert-Reg Health Information Tech by AHIMA CCS - Cert-Cert Coding Specialist by AHIMA CPC - Cert-Cert Professional Coder by AAPC CCDS DOC - Cert-Cert Clinical Doc. SPCLST by ACDIS CDIP - Cert-Clinical Doc. Impr. PROF by AHIMA Required 4 years clinical documentation experience, 7 years clinical experience in an acute care setting, with preferred supervisory experience
