Overview

RN Emergency role at CommonSpirit Health (Northridge Hospital Medical Center). Join a Level II Trauma Center team serving both adults and children, including the only Pediatric Trauma Center in the San Fernando Valley. Triage & Treat: Rapidly assess patients using emergency protocols to determine the appropriate course of action (intake, discharge, or admission). Stabilize & Adapt: Deliver critical stabilizing care to patients of all ages, adjusting treatment plans based on changing conditions and collaborating with the ER team. Coordinate & Evaluate: Apply clinical expertise to coordinate patient care, regularly planning and evaluating the effectiveness of treatment. Collaborate & Communicate: Build strong, professional relationships with staff, physicians, patients, and families, ensuring open communication and patient confidentiality. Advocate & Educate: Provide culturally sensitive care, respecting individual beliefs and customs, and educate patients and families on their care plan. Lead & Mentor: Provide guidance and leadership to the interdisciplinary team, supervising nursing interventions and acting as a resource for new staff and students. Document & Improve: Accurately document patient care and participate in initiatives to improve patient outcomes and the overall patient experience. Adhere & Comply: Follow all established hospital and departmental policies, procedures, and standards, ensuring a safe and compliant environment. Administer & Monitor: Administer medications as directed, carefully assessing and documenting patient responses and initiating appropriate interventions. Round & Respond: Conduct hourly rounds to address patient needs, focusing on pain management, skin integrity, and elimination. Job Requirements

Minimum one (1) year current acute care registered nursing experience in the specialty area required. Current certification in the specialty area preferred. Experience with EHR (Cerner MediTech etc?) preferred. Registered Nurse with current California License required. Current BLS ACLS PALS from the American Heart Association Required. TNCC required within 6 months of hire. MICN preferred. Crisis Prevention (CPI) training within 6 months of hire. ENPC required within 6 months of hire. Eight additional hours of pediatric specific education required annually. LA City Fire Care required within 90 days of hire. CT STROKE (NIHSS) within 90 days of hire. This position is represented by SEIU L12-1RN and is covered by the terms and conditions of the applicable collective bargaining agreement. Where You\'ll Work
