We are seeking a Reliability Engineer to lead efforts in improving equipment performance, reducing downtime, and extending asset life within a GMP-regulated manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for developing and implementing data-driven maintenance strategies, conducting root cause analyses, and optimizing preventive and predictive maintenance programs. The ideal candidate will apply engineering principles, reliability tools, and cross-functional collaboration to drive continuous improvement in asset reliability and operational efficiency.
Responsibilities
Develop and maintain equipment calibration and maintenance strategies, procedures, schedules, and task lists to support both preventive and corrective maintenance programs. Support engineering teams in evaluating maintenance considerations for new equipment installations and modifications. Conduct Failure Modes and Effects Analyses (FMEAs) on new and existing assets to enhance system reliability. Define asset criticality and manage MRO/spare parts inventory, including determining required stock levels and reorder points. Apply value-based decision-making to repair-versus-replace evaluations. Lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Failure Reporting, Analysis, and Corrective Action System (FRACAS) activities to drive equipment reliability improvements. Provide guidance and training on predictive maintenance techniques including thermography, vibration analysis, and ultrasonics. Perform preventive maintenance optimization and continuously improve maintenance procedures based on performance data. Partner with Operations and MSAT teams to identify and implement reliability improvements and equipment upgrades. Prepare and manage capital requests to support asset lifecycle management and maintain equipment in a State of Good Repair. Qualifications
Minimum of 5 years of experience in maintenance and reliability, engineering, operations, or production management B.S. degree in Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent experience. Proven mechanical and electrical aptitude Proficient in the use of CMMS systems, condition monitoring tools, and Microsoft Office applications Working knowledge of GMP regulations, Good Engineering Practices (GEP), and current maintenance and reliability best practices Ability to work hands-on in a fast-paced, regulated manufacturing environment. Physical Environment and Requirements
Physically able to wear cleanroom/protective gowning and equipment, including but not limited to gowning, goggles, face shields, respirators, and protective gloves. PPE and Respirators are essential for the health and safety of employees. Employee must be able to occasionally lift and / or move up to 50 pounds. Employee must be able to move various calibration equipment and tools. Employee must be able to occasionally sit, kneel or stand for extended times.
