Hecla Mining Company . As our underground miner, you will perform all aspects of mechanized underground hard-rock mining to keep production going and profitability up. You will work in a mine on a remote island about 18 miles outside of Juneau, Alaska. You will start each job with safety, inspecting your workplace and equipment, then operate and maintain various types of equipment and tools for production mining. You must be able to follow basic survey directions, including maps, prints, and grade lines, and interface with engineers and geologists. This role requires the ability to work independently on a remote island. About Us

The Greens Creek Mine, located on Admiralty Island 18 miles south of Juneau, is an underground polymetallic mine operating since 1989, employing over 500 people. The mine is owned and operated by Hecla Mining Company, headquartered in Coeur d\'Alene, Idaho. Established in 1891, Hecla has a rich history as a distinguished and respected precious metals producer. Greens Creek is seeking new team members committed to professional growth and success. What to Expect in This Role

Training first. Every hire is provided MSHA training in the first 4 days on the job, plus department-level training on safety. Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot underground equipment including electrohydraulic jumbos, bolters, UG haul trucks, and other underground equipment. Work on a remote island and live in a mining camp environment if not Juneau based. Provide support to complete underground development and production mining. Underground work with daily workplace inspections and prioritization of tasks. Background screening for ATF (Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms). Safety is prioritized; all equipment and work areas are inspected before starting the day. Team environment and mutual support. Schedule: 20 days on, 10 days off for this UG Miner position.
