Overview
Moog is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer/CNC Programmer - Milling to join the Prismatic Manufacturing Group in East Aurora, NY. This role focuses on new product development and continuous improvement of existing manufacturing processes, working hands-on with milled parts and applying advanced CNC programming and machining knowledge to solve challenges and optimize performance.
Responsibilities
Develop and optimize CNC Mill machining processes for both new and legacy components.
Create detailed CNC programs and manufacturing instructions that meet rigorous engineering specifications.
Define operation sequences, tooling, gauging, and machine requirements for precision part fabrication.
Troubleshoot shop floor issues, including tooling, gauging, workholding, and inspection challenges.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve manufacturing problems and enhance producibility.
Create detailed operation sheets and NC programs to produce high-precision machined parts and sub-assemblies.
Review engineering drawings for manufacturability and recommend design improvements.
Assist in the creation of machine-ready code and be hands-on in the production environment, assisting with program prove-outs and troubleshooting.
Estimate setup/run times and tooling hours; contribute to cost estimation for new business proposals.
Mentor junior engineers and lead continuous improvement initiatives in processes and equipment.
Qualifications
Required: A Bachelor’s degree in a technical field with 3+ years of relevant professional experience, or an Associate degree with 6+ years of relevant experience, or a High School Diploma/GED with 8+ years of proven professional experience.
Proficiency in CNC Milling Machining, including multi-axis vertical or horizontal machining centers.
Hands-on experience with machine setup and operation.
Preferred / Additional
A degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering.
Background in the aerospace industry.
Experience with machine automation integration.
Skills in inspection of machined parts.
Hands-on experience machining stainless steel, titanium, and aluminum.
Proficiency in CNC Programming using Siemens NX.
Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles; Lean Six Sigma certification is a plus.

Salary Buffalo, NY: $75,000.00–$115,000.00 annually
