Compensation We offer our employees a competitive compensation and benefits package that reflects our organizational culture, mission, and core values. The hourly range for this position is $19.46 to $20.58 and is commensurate with experience.

Position Description The Community Resources Porter is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the shower department and ensuring a clean, welcoming environment for guests. This includes maintaining the cleanliness of waiting areas, performing daily cleaning tasks, and collecting trash in the surrounding neighborhood to support a safe and sanitary community space.

Schedule Mon, 7:00 am – 1:00 pm & Tue‑Thu, 7:00 am – 11:00 am (22 hrs per week)

Required Some HS Education or GED; 1‑3 yrs. customer service experience; experience providing services to the homeless.

Required License/Certification CPR/First‑Aid.

Expected Contributions

Walk the neighborhood around SOME and pick up small trash

Properly dispose of all trash items in the SOME dumpster

Notify the city of large items that need to be picked up

Engage with neighborhood residents and answer questions about SOME, as needed

Shower Operations Management

Oversee and run shower operations within the allotted time

Male Shower Attendants coordinate showers for Men and Transgender Men; Female Shower Attendants coordinate showers for Women and Transgender Women

Dispense hygiene items to clients and collect after usage

Wash and clean laundry items

Maintain and upkeep the waiting area

Maintain the cleanliness of ramps and outdoor areas

Clean bathroom stalls

Maintain statistics on shower usage

Monitor personal items as clients shower

Report any breakage

Report unsafe or violent situations in a professional manner

Assist with dining operations, as needed

Notify Public Safety employees when assistance is needed

Additional Requirements

Mailroom duties as needed

Participates in required training and development activities

Fully cooperates with the organization's compliance and continuous quality improvement (CQI) program

Creates a safe work environment and uses sound judgment in interactions with clients and staff to maintain safety

Performs other related duties as assigned

Reports to work on time daily and uses the time clock appropriately

Physical Demands Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs. May be required to stand for long periods.
