Join our team of problem solvers as we add new chapters to the history of spaceflight. This role is part of the Lunar Permanence business unit, which develops Blue Moon landers and related products. We are building sustainable infrastructure for our transport of crew and cargo from Earth to the lunar surface. As part of a hardworking team of spacecraft development engineers, you will provide technical leadership and personnel management to the Guidance, Navigation & Control team. You will contribute and coordinate simulation and software technical baselines, software architecture, GNC algorithm implementation, and interfaces across multiple spacecraft to enable mission closure. You will engage with the cross-program software organizations to ensure spacecraft as-built configurations of hardware and software meets the mission needs. You will steer the integrated GN&C subsystem hardware and software through the full lifecycle starting at preliminary system level definition, detailed subsystem design and performance analysis, vehicle assembly, verification, system validation, mission certification, and mission operations. Responsibilities
Coordinate technical requirements and software designs across programs within Blue Origin along with external customer
Lead software and simulation development including facilitating code implementation within GN&C and close coordination with software organizations
Lead establishing GN&C software development environment across the full lifecycle
Lead team compliance with software standards and processes
Develop automation to improve the productivity of the team resources and drive efficiency into the team operations
Minimum Qualifications
B.S. degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering with 8+ years of demonstrated experience in GN&C
Previous experience with leading software teams across the entire development and deployment lifecycle
Experience in developing software and tools in Python, C/C++, or Rust
Experience with collaboration tools such as Gitlab, Confluence, and Jira
Previous experience with avionics hardware and software integration
Previous experience with technical disciplines of spacecraft navigation, orbital guidance, and spacecraft attitude controls
Experience with validation and verification approaches such as software unit testing, system simulation, hardware-in-the-loop testing or integrated subsystem testing
Experience with 6 degree-of-freedom guidance, navigation, and control simulation and analysis of aerospace vehicles
Highly organized team player with excellent technical written and verbal communication skills
Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of safety.
Desired Qualifications
M.S. or PhD in the subject disciplines
Experience with the NASA core Flight System (cFS)
Experience NASA simulation tools and environments (Trick/JEOD)
Compensation & Benefits
Compensation ranges: CO applicants $164,085.00-$229,719.00; WA applicants $178,452.00-$249,832.80

Paid Time Off: up to four weeks per year, plus holidays
