Overview

Director, Technical Operations at Paramount. Paramount Technology department supports a global content company through the delivery of a high-quality viewing experience, system infrastructure support, and innovative collaboration tools. Paramount is seeking a results-driven leader to drive growth, transformation, and ongoing innovation in technical operations. Primary Responsibilities

Provide technical oversight of both studio and remote productions and events. Acquire and negotiate with third-party vendors for production trucks, facilities, and technical services. Manage rental equipment needs across broadcast, performance, and specialty gear, and ensure payroll and billing are accurate. Evaluate power requirements, vendor quotes, and technical resources for stages, production offices, lighting, audio, and control rooms. Supervise technical crews to ensure productions are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest standard. Collaborate with Production teams to translate creative concepts into technical execution. Attend preproduction scouts and coordinate technical requirements for linear production, digital production, corporate events, and musical performances in in-house facilities and remote locations. Partner with Production on budgeting, scheduling, and cross-department resource alignment for complex studio and remote events. Provide on-site technical leadership during productions to oversee execution and troubleshoot issues. Implement new technologies and workflows to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and align with evolving industry standards. Develop technical specifications, documentation, and postmortem reports to capture learnings and drive continuous improvement. Introduce scalable processes that improve communication and accountability across technical, production, and vendor teams. Basic Qualifications

5+ years’ experience working in a live studio control room environment. 5+ years’ experience and knowledge of remote production facilities and trucks. Knowledge of technical facilities and transmission. Additional Qualifications

Strong interpersonal and computer skills including Microsoft Office 365 and database entry systems. Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment. Must be flexible and available to work nights and/or weekends and travel. Strong multitasking and problem-solving skills, able to resolve multiple issues in real time.
