Perform office work and fieldwork on a variety of civil, environmental, and water resource engineering projects, including environmental remediation/restoration, parks/recreation, stormwater/drainage, and resiliency/sustainability projects. Develop construction plans, specifications, and cost estimates; prepare construction safety and phasing plans, and update infrastructure layout plans that require coordination with owners, other disciplines, sub-consultants, and clients. Be involved from project inception to completion in the management of design and construction of infrastructure projects, including rehabilitation and reconstruction, grading, and drainage. Lead civil engineering projects of varying scales, ensuring contributors know what is required and by when; prepare and oversee relevant project budgets, monitor external events, track hours and expenses, ensure satisfactory performance, and supervise subcontractors. Assist with engineering review of permit applications, design plans and specifications, and periodic construction inspections to ensure compliance with applicable state and/or federal regulations and sound engineering practice and standards. Meet with various public or private entities or individuals to discuss issues relating to engineering/construction challenges and programs. Support and future develop a client base for providing civil/environmental engineering services, including identifying additional business development opportunities. Mentor staff to support their growth and professional development. Remain current in latest civil engineering techniques and practices. Collaborate with professionals from a variety of disciplines on Federal, State, regional, and locally funded improvement and development projects, as well as proposal and business development opportunities. Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures. Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs. Required Qualifications

BS in Civil or Environmental Engineering from an accredited college or university 10+ years of experience in engineering and civil design with public works, environmental or water resources projects Florida Professional Engineer (PE) license Highly proficient with civil engineering principles, practices, process, design/build, and the application to permitting and project work-related issues Highly proficient with infrastructure design Strong interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with others, able to convey intricate ideas effectively to engineering and non-engineering audiences Strong self-leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with clients, regulators, project managers, and employees at all levels Ability to work independently to provide guidance and leadership to mid-level to senior team or project members, with strict adherence to QA/QC Proficiency with technical writing and office automation; experience with discipline-specific design software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, ArcGIS, HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS) and related tools Experience with providing critical reviews of documents and preparing technical deliverables with a high degree of complexity Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to apply technical knowledge to testing results, data, computations, and analysis Proven ability to coordinate and direct subcontractors and others to complete tasks safely and efficiently Experience with business development and project proposals/qualification statements is preferred Commitment to workplace safety and adherence to WSP’s health, safety, drug/alcohol and harassment policies Flexibility to accommodate a variety of schedules and the ability to prioritize responsibilities in a dynamic environment Occasional travel may be required depending on project-specific requirements Preferred Qualifications
