Overview The Information Technology Service and Infrastructure team is made up of twelve system specialists including network, cloud, and system administrators supporting nearly 400 employees at multiple San Diego locations. The division is responsible for all IT end‑user services, such as application and desktop support, maintenance of enterprise applications, data center and cloud storage systems, and network management including LAN, WAN, and MAN. The division supports all aspects of Microsoft Office 365.

Role The Information Systems Analyst will be instrumental in delivering IT solutions for SANDAG’s business needs. This position is responsible for monitoring, maintaining, upgrading, implementing, and troubleshooting servers, networks, cloud services, applications, workstations, and peripheral devices. The primary focus is customer service through technology delivery and maintenance. The candidate will work in‑person in the San Diego office.

Job Responsibilities

Implement, monitor, upgrade, and troubleshoot servers, networks, cloud services, applications, workstations, and peripheral devices.

Provide helpdesk support for resolving issues with desktops (Windows and macOS), servers, network, hardware and software.

Administer and monitor various hardware and software environments including Microsoft Azure services, Office 365, Active Directory, File Servers, Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, SQL Servers, and IIS Web Servers.

Set up, monitor, and manage backups using Azure Backup, including disk and Azure backups, scheduling jobs, and inventory management.

Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with cloud environments, servers, desktop computers, peripheral devices, and network devices; work with customers to assess needs and provide assistance.

Actively protect IT assets and infrastructure from external or internal threats and ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements.

Maintain compliance with PCI DSS and federal, state and local government privacy laws.

Administer Active Directory, manage group policies and monitor security policies for desktop, server and end‑user environments.

Monitor and analyze enterprise security configurations and logs, configure and implement countermeasures, and coordinate vulnerability resolution.

Administer and support security technology environments including malware protection and security patch management.

Support the configuration, monitoring, and administration of enterprise storage environments including SAN and SAN replication.

Support IT Service Management functions including Asset Management, Capacity Planning, Change Management, Configuration Management, and Incident Management.

Support systems maintenance tasks, which may require planned after‑hours work.

Be available for after‑hours on‑call support to respond to critical system and network outages.

Typical Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology or related field; a master’s degree is desirable.

Three (3) years of progressive experience supporting network, security, and virtual environments.

Experience in Intune Mobile Management and Microsoft Autopilot highly desirable.

Experience in Azure Cloud Administration and security best practices.

Experience providing desktop, server, network, and enterprise application support for a 24/7 integrated information system environment.

Ability to configure, administer, and virtualize server systems (Hyper‑V, Azure AVD, Azure VMs), enterprise OS, storage, backup, and recovery solutions.

Knowledge of network access, control and routing protocols, wireless encryption technologies and network security tools.

Experience with Cisco and Fortinet devices preferred.

Demonstrated problem‑solving, communication and teamwork skills.

Excellent time‑management, organizational and independent work skills.

Ability to work after hours, weekends, and on physical activity as required.

Pass a pre‑employment criminal background investigation; periodic re‑checking will be a condition of employment.
