This Not-for-Profit Audit Senior role will work with Withum’s Not-for-Profit Industry team and is based in Boston, MA; Braintree or Providence offices. You’ll take a lead role on all aspects of audit engagements, from planning to completion, including supervision and mentoring of staff, working directly with partners and managers, and building/maintaining client relationships.
Responsibilities
Leading the engagement team staff on the planning and execution of an audit, review or compilation engagement to provide world-class client service to Not-For-Profit clients
Overseeing day-to-day operations of the audit engagement, including staffing, planning, risk assessment, fieldwork, financial reporting and conclusion
Providing supervision and support to engagement staff and promoting open communication with the engagement manager and partner
Collaborating with managers and partners on client issue resolution and making recommendations on legal, regulatory and accounting issues
Reviewing all schedule and non-scheduled general ledger accounts for accurate entries
Managing multiple engagements concurrently with various teams to meet client deadlines
Creating and tracking engagement budgets to identify inefficiencies
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
CPA or CPA eligible
At least 2 years of public accounting experience, with experience leading multiple engagements and supervising staff
Prior auditing experience with Not-For-Profit/Higher Education organizations desired, but not required
Excellent analytical, technical, and auditing skills including familiarity with US GAAP for complex engagements in this sector
Exceptional client service and communication skills with ability to develop and maintain outstanding client relationships
Ability to manage multiple engagements and competing projects in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
Strong leadership, training, and mentoring skills with excellent verbal, written, and presentation abilities
Strong analytical, organizational, project management skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities
Compensation & Benefits The compensation for this position will vary by location. Massachusetts ranges are $80,000 - $120,000 annually; Providence ranges are $74,000 - $108,000 annually. Withum offers a competitive benefits package and bonus program (for eligible roles) based on individual and firm performance.
