About the Team And Role We are the Buyer Experience Recommendations Team. Dive into the heart of eCommerce innovation at Buyer Experiences, where we transform eBay\'s shopping journey by focusing on simplification, personalization, and modernization to build world-class buyer and seller experiences. Utilizing cutting-edge technologies like Generative AI, you\'ll tackle complex challenges that directly improve the shopping experience for millions of eBay users daily. What You Will Accomplish (Responsibilities)
Translate requirements to software design and create clean, efficient, extensible, maintainable code. Contribute to evidence-centered design, making features testable, ensuring high quality and improving velocity in continuous delivery; manage project features, break into sub-tasks, identify and resolve issues for efficient execution. Provide technical guidance, conduct code reviews for immediate and broader teams, and mentor team members. Identify gaps across systems, propose solutions, build the engineering roadmap, and drive resolution. Take responsibility for sub-systems within a large domain, covering the full software life cycle including design, development, testing, deployment, observability and monitoring. Identify areas likely to change and design for flexibility to improve velocity and E2E testing quality. What You Will Bring (Qualifications)
BS/MS or equivalent experience in Computer Science/Engineering or related field with 7+ years of experience. Experience designing, building, debugging, refactoring and releasing large web apps with support for mobile and desktop browsers. Expertise in NodeJS, Javascript, HTML, CSS, LESS, JSON, Typescript, GraphQL and browser dev tools. Proficiency with web template engines, testing frameworks, environment configurations, GIT, and JIRA. Experience building data-driven applications (RDBMS, NoSQL, Elasticsearch) and delivering results in fast-paced environments (agile, TDD, CI/CD). Experience with Java, GraphQL, Spring/Spring Boot, REST APIs, messaging systems, or other backend languages is a plus. Compensation and Benefits
The base pay range for this position is $132,000 - $222,100. Base pay offered may vary depending on location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package may include bonus targets and stock units, plus medical, financial, and other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off).
