Position: Information Technology Technician II (12-month, tenure track). Level: Community College Professional 16, 12-month, tenure track position. Hours: Full-time, 35 hours per week. Location: CT State Naugatuck Valley - Danbury campus, 7 West Street, Danbury, CT 06810. Posting details: Posted October 17, 2025. The Information Technology Technician II independently performs a broad range of computer hardware and software operation, maintenance and repair at a Community College which relies on computerized services in support of its academic and administrative functions. These services include academic computer labs, classroom computerized instruction and presentations, and several databases and reporting programs, including the centralized Banner system, which support departments such as the Business Office, Registrar, Admission, Library, and Student Services. Provide technical assistance to the users of the various computer systems through installation of hardware and software, diagnosing and repairing computer operating problems, and scheduling and assisting in the operation of computer labs. Demonstrate and provide personal instruction to students in computer system operation and assist and train administrators in software applications. Under the direction of the Director of Information Technology or other administrator, be accountable for installation, operation, adaptation, maintenance and repair of computerized equipment and software on a college-wide basis, through effective performance in key functional areas: operation of the College's information technology systems; operation of computers and related equipment; advice and guidance on computerized systems operation. Attend convocation and commencement ceremonies; serve on assigned committees and task forces; attend committee, staff, informational and professional meetings (evening or weekend events as required). Minimum Qualifications

Associate’s degree in computer science or related technological discipline together with one (1) or more years of experience in computer system and software installation, repair, maintenance and operation; or a combination of education, training, and experience which would lead to the competencies required for successful performance of the position’s essential duties. Incumbents are required to have demonstrated advanced knowledge and abilities in the following: Microcomputer hardware, software, related peripheral equipment, software applications and equipment assembly and installation Installing, operating, adapting, diagnosing and repairing malfunctions in computer equipment and software, including complex software systems such as the Banner system Candidates must possess proven ability to effectively work with culturally, linguistically, and ethnically diverse faculty, staff, and students. They are expected to have excellent interpersonal oral and written communication skills along with strong Information technology literacy skills such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, etc.). Preferred Qualifications

Experience managing complex Help Desk concerns (e.g., Level 2, Tier 2, etc.). Experience troubleshooting hardware issues (laptops, desktops, printers, copiers, etc.). Experience troubleshooting software issues on Windows, Macs, or mobile devices (iPads, tablets, etc.). Experience troubleshooting various networking issues (wired, wireless, etc.). Experience using imaging and MDM experiences (e.g., MECM, VDI, JAMF, etc.). Experience using enterprise tools (e.g., Active Directory, Beyond Trust, etc.). The ability to communicate additional languages beyond English (e.g., ASL, Spanish, Portuguese) is considered a preferred qualification for all student and community facing positions. Starting Salary

Minimum Salary range: $63,585 - $67,844 approximate annual, plus excellent State of CT medical insurance, retirement, and related fringe benefits. Salary is based on qualifications such as education and job-related experience, and internal equity.
