Intel Corporation . Job Description: Intel's Foundry Automation group is seeking an experienced Infrastructure Engineer - Government Programs. In this role, you will focus on server hardware management, lifecycle management, and operating systems (Linux and Windows). You will be responsible for the deployment, configuration, and troubleshooting of data center servers, ensuring system stability, performance, and security in alignment with key initiatives driving Intel Foundry's success. Your expertise in server hardware will be essential for optimizing our hardware infrastructure and supporting operational efficiency. The Ideal Candidate Should Demonstrate Expertise in server hardware (HPE, Dell), including different drive types (HDD, SSD, NVMe), network and storage connectivity, and server troubleshooting with tools like iLO and BMC. Expertise in OS troubleshooting (Linux, Windows). Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills for diagnosing complex infrastructure issues. Deep understanding of automated deployment technologies, such as PXE boot, for consistent server builds. Proficiency in automation using scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python, PowerShell) for server management. A proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues across multi-functional infrastructure teams. Excellent documentation skills with a focus on precision and consistency in managing complex systems. Responsibilities Include Overseeing the full server lifecycle, from landing and provisioning to maintenance, in a data center environment. Troubleshooting and resolving hardware and software issues on servers, storage, and operating systems (Linux, Windows). Using tools such as iLO (Integrated Lights-Out) and BMC (Baseboard Management Controller). Ensure the installation and maintenance of firmware and drivers for server hardware to optimize performance and compatibility across systems. Managing server builds, including provisioning via PXE boot and other automated deployment technologies. Configuring and maintaining hardware components, including various storage drives (HDD, SSD, NVMe) and ensuring optimal network and storage connectivity. Collaborating with network, storage, and security teams to support infrastructure needs and resolve cross-functional technical issues. Conducting OS patching, upgrades, and configuration changes to maintain system security and efficiency. Monitoring and optimizing server performance, capacity planning, and hardware utilization. Supporting backup, data integrity, and disaster recovery processes in line with best practices. Documenting procedures, configurations, and changes for server and hardware management. Staying current with emerging server technologies and practices for continuous improvement of data center operations. Some travel may be required. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications U.S. citizenship required. Ability to obtain and maintain US Government TS Security Clearance and SCI access. Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science or a related STEM field. 4+ years of experience in infrastructure engineering, with a strong emphasis on server hardware and its lifecycle management. Preferred Qualifications Experience in server hardware, storage infrastructure, and OS troubleshooting (Linux, Windows). Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python, PowerShell) for automation of server management tasks. Experience in networking fundamentals with respect to software-defined networks like ACI. Experience with best practices for data center security, power, and cooling to support reliable infrastructure design. Experience with security compliance standards and best practices for data center management, including the server hardware and operating system lifecycle.
