Overview
AVP Software Engineering position at HealthTrust Performance Group. This role leads software engineering efforts for HealthTrust Customer Solutions, guiding multiple teams in architecting, developing, releasing, and maintaining software applications that support the core business and deliver value to GPO membership. What will you do in this role
Team Leadership: Provide strategic direction and leadership to the five engineering teams, including mentoring QA engineers, testers, and analysts to support professional development and success. Technology Strategy: Develop and execute a technology roadmap aligned with the company's long-term vision and business objectives. Team Management: Build and manage a high-performing engineering team, including recruiting, hiring, training, and mentoring engineers. Product Development: Oversee the entire product development lifecycle from conception to launch, ensuring timely delivery and quality standards. Cross-functional Collaboration: Work with product management and design to ensure alignment on key initiatives. Budgeting and Resource Allocation: Assist in developing and managing the engineering budget and allocating resources to meet project timelines. Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate and improve engineering processes to increase efficiency, productivity, and quality. Risk Management: Identify risks and develop strategies to mitigate them. Stakeholder Communication: Provide updates to executives, stakeholders, and other teams on engineering initiatives and progress. Technology Innovation: Stay informed about emerging technologies and assess their potential impact. Performance Management: Set goals and provide regular feedback and performance evaluations for engineering team members. Automation Strategy: Develop and implement a QA automation strategy to improve testing efficiency and reliability. Vendor Management: Manage relationships with external vendors, contractors, and partners to ensure timely delivery and budget adherence. Compliance and Security: Ensure processes and products comply with industry standards, regulations and security best practices. Customer Focus: Foster a customer-centric culture within the engineering team, emphasizing understanding and addressing customer needs and feedback. Training and Development: Identify training needs and facilitate sessions to enhance skills in QA/Engineering/DevSecOps methodologies, tools, and technologies. Root Cause Analysis: Conduct root cause analysis for quality incidents and implement preventive actions. Policy Development: Develop and maintain security policies, standards, and procedures for the DevSecOps team. Security Testing: Oversee security testing methodologies, including static code analysis and penetration testing. Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement with metrics to measure and optimize efficiency and effectiveness. Effective interpersonal, written and oral communication skills Proven record of innovation, leadership, communication, customer focus and quality Self-motivated with ability to lead independently Thrives on technical challenges and sustainable solutions; aims to improve productivity, reliability and code quality Strong development skills with VueJs/Angular, .NET & .NET Core, Microsoft SQL Server Experience with QA and testing, including automated testing, CI, and test-driven development Experience deploying third-party solutions Experience with Microsoft Azure or AWS, including cloud security controls and IAM High-availability and scalable cloud-based applications Exposure to developing analytic applications and/or reporting tools Familiarity with all phases of the product development lifecycle Familiarity with Git Experience with agile methodologies and planning/estimation Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills Knowledge of security principles, standards and best practices, including secure coding, vulnerability management, threat modeling, and compliance frameworks Awareness of regulatory requirements (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA) Understanding of DevOps, CI/CD, IaC and automated testing Mobile app development experience is a plus Experience with HL7 or healthcare integration is a plus Research and analytics experience is a plus Qualifications
Bachelors degree in computer science, information systems, security or engineering MBA or other masters degree preferred 20 years relevant work experience 5 years of leadership experience Benefits
