Ignition
Overview
Ignition is the leading revenue generation platform for accounting and professional services businesses, enabling proposals, billing, payments and workflows in a single platform. Founded in 2013, Ignition empowers thousands of businesses to reach their revenue potential and has a global workforce across multiple regions. Role
Staff Product Manager, Payments — reporting to the SVP, Product — to lead the evolution of Ignition’s Payments product, owning the infrastructure, capabilities, and customer experience that power how service businesses get paid. What you’ll do
Own the Payments product roadmap: Define, prioritize, and execute product strategy across payment rails (ACH, PAD, card, etc.) and global markets. Translate commercial objectives into product strategy and execution plans, ensuring alignment across teams. Develop a deep understanding of customer and market payment pain points: speak with customers, partners, and internal teams to identify friction, trust, and opportunities. Manage payments infrastructure and user experience: onboarding, payouts, reconciliation, fraud/risk controls, and reporting to optimize reliability, speed, and trust. Collaborate with Engineering and Design: lead discovery, requirements, and delivery with a strong emphasis on feedback and execution quality. Partner cross-functionally with Product Marketing, Sales, Customer Success, Support, and Fraud/Risk Ops to ensure adoption, support, and understanding of the product. Drive adoption and utilization: use data and qualitative insights to reduce activation barriers and increase payment volume. Foster a culture of experimentation and learning: apply first-principles thinking and test-and-learn approaches to validate assumptions and deliver measurable impact. Be data-driven and outcomes-focused: define success with customer and business metrics, establish KPIs, and use data to guide prioritization and retrospectives. Optimize systems and scale: continuously improve reliability, compliance, and performance of global payments infrastructure in partnership with providers (e.g., Stripe). Qualifications
7+ years of product management experience, including 3+ years in Payments or FinTech, with focus on payment rails, authorisation flows, or transaction infrastructure. Strong technical fluency in payment rails (ACH, PAD, card) and providers (Stripe, Adyen, Plaid, or similar). Proven ability to deliver high-availability financial systems balancing compliance, risk, and user experience. Experience using data and experimentation to drive insight, prioritization, and impact measurement. Strong customer empathy and ability to translate feedback into clear product decisions. Collaborative, low-ego approach and ability to work across cross-functional teams. Ability to structure ambiguous problems, make tradeoffs, and align teams around priorities. Clear, concise communication that can align technical and non-technical audiences. You’ll Thrive Here If You
Care deeply about understanding customer problems and market dynamics before building solutions. Take pride in shipping reliable, high-quality systems. Approach complex problems from first principles, valuing learning and iteration. Value clarity, accountability, and teamwork over personal ownership. Are motivated by solving hard, operationally complex challenges in payments and infrastructure. Additional Information
