Import/Export Compliance Professional role at
Vestas . The Vestas Customs Team oversees import activities for all Vestas operations in the United States and Canada, working in a collaborative environment with a diverse range of products sourced internationally. Base pay range
$70,000.00/yr - $90,000.00/yr Responsibilities: Ensure all project imports are conducted in compliance with applicable law and regulation as applied by the country of import. Regularly audit entry files to ensure compliance with federal regulations. Classify imported articles according to the applicable harmonized tariff schedule, explanatory notes, customs ruling, other regulation and corporate processes. Coordinate import activity with Brokerage Service Providers and other relevant stakeholders to ensure all customs operations are conducted timely and accurately. Ensure all special trade programs (free trade agreements, transportation & exportation, temporary import bond, ATA carnet, etc) are executed properly and accurately. Work with Transport team to develop customs budgets for projects and track budgets throughout execution. Provide regular budget status updates to stakeholders. Reconcile monthly bank statement. Process exports of project transport equipment in compliance with all laws and regulations. Process duty drawback claims timely and in compliance with law and regulation. Support all compliance activities related to applicable tariff actions. Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or 5-7 years equivalent professional experience in import/export compliance. Must have CCS or CHB License. Very experienced in harmonized tariff classification (HTS) and usage of Title 19 of the CFR, Explanatory Notes (EN), Canada D Memo, Export Administration Regulations (EAR), etc. Experience with ACE reporting. Advanced knowledge of MS Excel required. Balancing several tasks at once and adjusting to changing circumstances is crucial in this role. Analytical and solution-oriented. Demonstrate effective phone skills and clear written and verbal communication. Detail-oriented. Self-motivated and able to work with little supervision. What we offer:
