Manville School, a program of the Baker Center for Children and Families, is a therapeutic day school providing special education, clinical, and behavioral support for students in kindergarten through tenth grade with complex social-emotional, behavioral, and learning needs. Manville provides services for up to 115 students from over 50 school districts in the greater Boston area, and has approximately 100 educational, clinical, and behavioral staff members. Manville integrates comprehensive, evidence-based clinical services, innovative educational programming, and tiered behavioral supports to ensure that students with unique needs experience social-emotional development and academic success. The Nurse Manager is a member of a multi-disciplinary team and provides leadership and oversight of all medical functions of the Manville School. The Nurse Manager provides direct services to students and staff, develops individual nursing care plans for students, and monitors health policies and emergency procedures. The Nurse Manager supervises the School Nurse, provides trainings to staff for medication administration and works closely with Manville’s Clinical Director and Psychiatric Prescriber. Key Responsibilities

Assesses student health status and identifies health problems on a routine daily basis, creates individual nursing care plans as necessary. Manages student health records and administers medications with documentation and accurate record keeping. Provides health counseling to students and families. Collaborates with the Psychiatric Prescriber to provide psychopharmacological services to students. Performs daily first aid treatment to students and staff as necessary. Collaborates with outside clinical providers. Orders and budgets for health office supplies. Develops, maintains and continuously monitors health policies and emergency procedures. Actively participates in the development, implementation and monitoring of the health curriculum. Completes and submits results of yearly immunization survey for the Department of Public Health. Provides medication administration trainings to staff Provides annual training for staff regarding medical related topics. Supervises School Nurse. Key Qualifications

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Nursing. Registered Nurse (RN) License in Massachusetts in good standing is required. Experience:

5+ years of Nursing experience is required. Pediatric and/or psychiatric care experience is preferred. Training:

First Aid/CPR and Physical Restraint trainings is required or ability to participate in annual training at beginning of employment and annually or as needed throughout tenure. Compensation & Benefits
