Overview
The CV Invasive Specialist performs duties necessary for cardiac catheterization procedures at a technical and professional level requiring some proctoring and supervision of technical detail. The Specialist performs a variety of technical procedures that require some independent judgment. The CV Invasive Specialist assumes responsibility and initiative for designated areas and procedures as required.

As an Invasive Cardiovascular Technician EP at Intermountain Health, you will play a vital role in supporting our clinical team, ensuring our patients receive the best care by:
Provides technical support during invasive cardiovascular procedures. Provides patient care under the supervision of the RN.
Assists physicians in radiological imaging of cardiac and vascular procedures, acts as scrub assistant, maintaining sterile conditions during clinical procedures. Operates imaging equipment and works in the control room monitoring and documenting procedure images and events.
Educates patients and families regarding the procedure and about the expectations of the procedure. Teaches patient and family about pre and post procedure physical conditions.
Assists in maintaining order and cleanliness of the unit. Maintains appropriate stock levels for complex interventions and diagnostic procedures.
Completes daily, progress and discharge documentation according to departmental standards. Accurately documents productivity information.
Minimum Qualifications – Invasive Cardiovascular Technician
High School Diploma or equivalent, required
Registered ARRT or Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Technologist RCIS within 18 months of hire, or Registered Respiratory Therapist with CV Specific certification, required
Current Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (BLS-HCP), required
ACLS and Surgical Technologist License with DORA obtained within 3 months of hire in state of Colorado, required
Preferred Qualifications
Associates degree, preferred
Two (2) years of experience in Cardiology/Cath Lab, preferred
Minimum Qualifications – Invasive Cardiovascular Technician II
Bachelor’s Degree or RCIS Certification, required
Registered ARRT or Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Technologist RCIS is required or Registered Respiratory Therapist with CV specific certification or RCIS or RCES required.
Current Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (BLS-HCP) and ACLS is required.
Surgical Technologist License must be obtained within 3 months from hire date in the State of Colorado.
Four (4) years of experience in Cardiology/Cath Lab
Preferred Qualifications
Five (5) or more years of experience in Cardiology/Cath Lab
Minimum Qualifications – Invasive Cardiovascular Student ($28.76)
High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Active enrollment in an accredited Invasive Cardiovascular Technology program and in good standing.

Physical Requirements Ongoing need for the employee to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies. Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors that require verbal communication and quick comprehension of alarms, needs, and issues, especially during emergencies. Manual dexterity to manipulate complex and delicate equipment. Includes frequent computer use and documentation. Ability to lift, bend, and transfer patients and equipment. Ability to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining supplies. May involve standing for extended periods.
