TravelNurseSource is partnering with Fusion Medical Staffing to find an Oncology RN for a 13-week travel assignment in Asheville, North Carolina (28801).

Responsibilities
Educate patients and families about oncology procedures and treatments, addressing concerns and fostering understanding
Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved oncology nursing techniques
Prepare and maintain oncology-specific equipment assisting oncologists during treatment and examinations
Monitor and address patients' comfort, safety, and side effects, and implement interventions to enhance quality of life
Assess and monitor patients, document conditions and responses
Maintain detailed and accurate nursing documentation in medical records
Respond to life-saving situations based on oncology nursing standards, policies, and procedures
Develop and implement individualized education plans for cancer patients and families
Participate in oncology quality improvement initiatives to improve patient outcomes and care delivery
Advocate for oncology patients and assist them in navigating complex treatment plans
Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of practice
Adhere to hospital safety protocols, infection control guidelines, and regulatory standards
Qualifications
Required:
One year of recent experience as an Oncology RN
Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations
Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC)
Preferred Qualifications
Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) certification
ACLS (AHA/ARC) certification
Other certifications and licenses may be required for this position

English language proficiency in reading and writing
Ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions; proficient PC skills
Physical ability to remain stationary and move equipment (50-100 lbs), push/pull, and bend
Collaborative interpersonal skills to work with a variety of personnel
Technical/motor skills to assist with procedures and equipment
Mental ability to manage deadlines, adapt to schedules, and maintain attention to detail
Sensory abilities including visual acuity for effective communication
