What You Will Do
Lead day-to-day operations of a survey crew for boundary, topographic and construction surveys for a wide variety of public and private projects.
Specific duties include:
Direct and lead survey crew operations;
Interpret construction plans;
Ensure proper set-up and calibrations;
Use and maintain field equipment;
Operate various types of survey equipment;
Upload and download survey data into computer or survey controller.
Travel, including overnight stays, is sometimes required.
What You Will Bring The successful candidate will have:
Three or more years of experience in construction, topographic, right of way and boundary surveys;
Ability to schedule between multiple projects and communicate with project managers, inspection staff and contractors;
Ability to operate Trimble/Leica GPS, Total Stations, and other survey equipment;
Ability to work in a variety of weather conditions and terrains;
A valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
Preferred Qualifications
A two-year degree in civil engineering technology or land surveying; two or more years of crew chief or other supervisory experience;
Experience with AutoCAD, Civil 3D or MicroStation/Geopak;
Experience performing construction staking on large complex transportation projects.
This position could be filled by an LSIT or a Professional Land Surveyor.
