Full Time Job Description: The Advanced Design Engineer is responsible for designing and developing new vehicles which meet future regulatory requirements and customer competitive requirements. This group is responsible for vehicle architecture, vehicle packaging, and initial systems and component engineering design. In addition, the team resolves packaging and adaptation issues as the vehicles move toward production. The engineer\'s responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, establishing physical and functional integration of vehicle systems and components during the program planning phase (concept to program approval), translating strategic and functional objectives into technical requirements, creating and analyzing alternative design concepts, packaging and integrating systems and components, and benchmarking of competitive vehicles. The candidate will achieve these tasks by leading an extended cross functional team to balance all requirements to achieve the most optimal solution. Presentation of design concepts to higher levels of management will be required. In addition to the above, the Chassis System lead will be responsible for the components/system from initial concept, to kinematic/compliance modeling and structural analysis. Design and develop new vehicles to meet future regulatory and customer requirements, focusing on chassis systems. Define vehicle architecture and packaging; perform initial systems and component engineering design; resolve packaging and adaptation issues toward production. Create, analyze, and compare alternative design concepts; package and integrate systems and components; benchmark against competitive vehicles. Lead an extended cross-functional team to balance requirements and achieve optimal solutions; present design concepts to management. Perform CAE analysis, vehicle packaging (NX), and ensure model integrity in Teamcenter. Collaborate with stakeholders across regions to coordinate and resolve issues; operate effectively in a cross-functional team. Qualifications
Basic Qualifications: Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent from an ABET-accredited program Five or more years of vehicle engineering experience in Body-in-White, Electrical, Interior Systems, Powertrain Adaptations, Engine Systems (Cooling, Fuel, Exhaust), or Chassis Systems; a minimum of two years in Suspension design/development Expertise in TeamCenter, NX CAD Software & Vis Mockup with demonstrated skills to develop preproduction and production CAD data structures; ability to position and manipulate models, cut sections, analyze designs; create and analyze alternative designs and integrate systems Strong communication skills to lead others and coordinate across Stellantis regions; able to work independently and in a cross-functional team Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Suite Preferred Qualifications: Master of Science degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program Broad vehicle knowledge; ability to integrate stakeholder requirements into final vehicle design Excellent relationship-building skills; ability to manage change effectively Ability to present ideas and concepts to all levels of management Equal Opportunity Statement
