The position supports Electronics Manufacturing Facility, Mechanical Manufacturing Facility or Platform Integration Facility to develop, document, and execute manufacturing processes, systems, and procedures that support fabrication, machining, welding, painting, and assembly integration and test. The IE will provide technical expertise to efficiently layout manufacturing areas and balance work content; contribute to manufacturing strategies, business processes, facility planning, and engineering standards across sites; and apply industrial engineering concepts, analysis, and decision tools to promote manufacturing and service improvements. Your greatest work is ahead. This posting is for multiple opportunities ranging in years of experience; level of opportunity and compensation will be matched to candidate experience. Primary Responsibilities

Perform “Top Level/Rough Cut” Capacity Planning and support Make vs. Buy with capacity analysis. Develop process flows/roadmaps using simulation tools with inputs from the Manufacturing Team (Production, Manufacturing Engineer, Quality, Production Control). Design work center layouts to ensure safety and on-time delivery. Improve efficiency by analyzing Eng Standards versus Actual Run Times; identify, prioritize, and implement process improvement opportunities using lean principles, process mapping, and root cause analysis. Develop and maintain facility layouts in AutoCAD. Design production constraint visual controls and metrics that reduce span time impacts to production. Help develop standard processes and operating procedures for the Industrial Engineering Team across Defense Manufacturing Sector sites. Develop metrics to measure plant and equipment capability, identify bottlenecks, and improve processes. Conduct machine capacity analyses to improve machining efficiency (Tooling & Equipment Utilizations). Support Lean Improvement Events, Kaizen Blitz/workshops using standard IE tools; provide data to support decisions. Collaborate with quality engineering and production to initiate corrective actions to ensure product quality. Analyze existing systems and processes to identify value-added and non-value-added activities and support manufacturing growth while consolidating core competencies into common facilities. Assist site manufacturing teams with long-range plans, production launch activities, plant layouts, and engineering change control activities. Assist in capacity planning for fabrication, machining, weld, paint, and assembly to meet takt time and customer requirements. Identify and implement solutions for process improvement, including lean manufacturing principles, process mapping, time studies, and problem-solving techniques. Foster an environment of continuous improvement across all manufacturing sites. Basic Qualifications

BS in Industrial Engineering or Industrial and Systems Engineering with at least 2 years of experience, or a Masters with less than 2 years of prior relevant experience, plus a BS in IE or ISyE. Ability to collaborate in an engineering environment with multi-disciplinary teams. Experience in creating manufacturing strategies including make/buy decisions, equipment requirements, process definition, work area layout, tooling requirements, takt time evaluation, and capacity planning. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and AutoCAD. Residency in the North Alabama area or willingness to relocate to Huntsville-North Alabama, AL.
