Senior Construction Project Manager I role at AdventHealth. Location: AdventHealth Orlando • Schedule: Full-Time • Shift: Day The Role You'll Contribute
The Office of Design & Construction (ODC) Project Manager Sr. I (SPMI) is responsible for the design of multiple projects as assigned, with or without consultants, interfacing with hospital clinical and engineering staff, management of code compliance, and commissioning of the building. Accurate and timely planning, analysis, and execution of multiple projects, including one to two large scale, design-to-construction projects, with budgets in excess of $50 million. Prepares time and cost estimates for assigned projects, tracks projects against proposed timelines, updates project plans to reflect actual progress, and escalates encountered situations to the appropriate area with detailed and accurate information. This role partners closely with AdventHealth team members, consultant designers, contractors, and other professionals throughout the project life cycle. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all. The Value You'll Bring To The Team Leads and supervises team of Project Coordinators, Project Managers, Senior Project Manager I and support staff as they provide design and construction services. Assigns and oversees the work of the team to assure projects are progressing appropriately, frequently visits job site throughout construction, and follows established procedures of the Design & Construction department. Utilizes pre-construction understanding of operational considerations to assess project risks and formulate mitigation plans. Develops and updates project budgets and delivers projects in a timely and cost-efficient manner in accordance with the approved project scope. Collaborates on several projects with other Project Manager(s), leads project evaluation meetings and administrative reviews from conception to completion. Manages negotiation and bidding, and delivers a project change control process to ensure the team operates within scope and change approvals. Monitors subcontractor activities to guarantee budget and specification compliance; administers RFIs and Change Orders. Manages multiple projects simultaneously, prepares and presents technical and educational documentation to enhance customer knowledge and team understanding. Participates in internal/external training; stays current with applicable application or technical skills. Promotes effective staffing; forecasts personnel needs and maintains staffing at or below benchmark standards. Coaches, develops, evaluates and mentors team members to build capabilities within departments. Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Interior Design, Engineering, Construction Management or related field. 5 years' healthcare design and construction project management experience or equivalent. 2 years' experience leading senior executive sponsored projects. Extensive experience in managing diverse teams to deliver complex information solutions. Experience with AHCA regulations, JCAHO/DNV standards, and other applicable codes of the construction industry. Current State of Florida license in Architecture, Interior Design, Construction-related Engineering, or General Contracting. Ability to build and maintain effective and productive teams. Excellent project management skills to manage multiple mid-sized to large, complex healthcare projects. Knowledge of healthcare design and construction techniques. Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and contracts. Excellent verbal, written, and organizational skills; self-motivated requiring minimal management; strong interpersonal skills. Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook; comfortable presenting to management and customers.
