The agency oversees services for child safety, fostering, adoption, domestic violence, adult protective services, refugees, homelessness, mental health, substance abuse, childcare providers, human trafficking and public assistance. Within DCF, the Substance Abuse and Mental Health (SAMH) Program office is recognized as the single state authority for substance abuse and mental health services. The Office of SAMH is statutorily responsible for the planning, evaluation, and implementation of a comprehensive statewide system of care for the prevention, treatment, and recovery of children and adults with serious mental illnesses or substance use disorders. Northeast Florida State Hospital (NEFSH) is a 613-bed, licensed mental health treatment facility that provides person-centered services to adults suffering from severe and persistent mental illness. The hospital, located in Macclenny, was established in 1959 and is the largest state operated civil treatment facility. This is a highly responsible and professional position serving as the Senior Behavioral Analyst within the Psychology unit. The ideal candidate will be a collaborative team player who works seamlessly across all sections within the program office. This role requires the use of independent judgment, a proactive approach to responsibilities, and exceptional attention to detail. Responsibilities

Provide psychological assessment and treatment services to an inpatient adult population at Northeast Florida State Hospital as a Florida licensed psychologist.

Conduct psychological assessments including routine hospital forms, violence risk assessments, suicide risk assessments, forensic evaluations, and psychological testing (e.g., memory, personality, intelligence); provide individual and group psychotherapy.

Assist the Director with administrative responsibilities, research, and special projects.

Conduct clinical interviews, chart reviews, behavioral observations, staff consultation, and related documentation for initial and annual psychological evaluations.

May complete forensic reports to the Court and internal forensic assessments; administer and interpret psychological instruments.

Attend Recovery Team meetings, participate in treatment plan formulation, and complete related documentation.

Facilitate assigned evidence-based specialty treatment group, provide group coverage for additional groups, and complete related documentation.

Provide individual mental health treatment to assigned residents, including psychotherapy and behavior plans.

Conduct clinical interviews and administer assessment tools; perform chart reviews, behavioral observations, and staff consultation for Suicide Risk Assessments and Violence Risk Assessments.

Serve on the Suicide Risk Assessment team to complete complex, high-profile Suicide Risk Assessments.

May act in absence of the supervisor and support the Director with various assignments and special projects.

Attend hospital meetings and trainings, including American Psychological Association accredited internship program meetings.

Perform other duties as directed by the Director of Psychology.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Knowledge of the theories and principles of psychology.

Knowledge of psychological testing principles and practices.

Knowledge of methods of compiling, organizing, analyzing and interpreting data.

Ability to understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies and procedures.

Ability to develop policies, procedures and standards.

Ability to analyze and interpret psychological data.

Ability to provide consultation, advice and training to others.

Ability to formulate and implement goals and objectives.

Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments.

Ability to communicate effectively.

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.

Minimum Qualifications

Licensed Florida Psychologist.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with civil and forensic patients.

Experience in providing court testimony.

Experience in crisis management and research in mental health.

Certification in forensic psychology or related training.
