Schedule: Day shift, Full-Time (Hourly)
Pay Range: $20.00 – $26.00 per hour
Job Overview
The Insurance Verification, Referral & Authorization Specialist is responsible for verifying health insurance benefits for all new patients or existing patients. Qualifications
High school graduate or GED 1-year experience in a physician billing or third-party payer environment Demonstrate working knowledge of contracts, insurance benefits, exclusions, and other billing requirements as well as claim forms, HMOs, PPOs, Medicare, Medicaid, and compliance program regulations Preferred Experience
Patient financial and practice management system experience in Epic, OnBase, Passport and/or other electronic billing systems Knowledge of medical terminology Scheduling Requirements
Full Time Day Essential Functions
Contact the patient's insurance company to verify coverage levels and walk patients through benefits information Ensure patients have been authorized for specialty services and office visits Act as liaison between patient, provider, and other parties involved in the plan of care Appropriately link referrals for identified visits Screen patients for eligibility for Medicaid, Alternative Paying Solutions, Charity Care, self-pay estimates, and pharmaceutical assistance programs Perform administrative duties, including answering telephones and greeting patients Other Duties
