Our European banking client is seeking a
KYC Analyst
to join their New York-based middle office team. This role will support front-office Relationship Managers by managing end-to-end KYC processes, ensuring regulatory compliance across client onboarding and periodic reviews. The ideal candidate will have 1–3 years of experience in KYC or client onboarding within a financial institution.
Position Summary The
KYC Analyst
is responsible for supporting the front-office Relationship Management and Coverage teams by overseeing the administrative and operational aspects of the Know Your Customer (KYC) lifecycle for both new and existing clients. This middle-office role ensures that all regulatory and internal compliance requirements are met efficiently and accurately, allowing Relationship Managers (RMs) and deal teams to focus on client engagement, origination, and strategic relationship development.
The KYC Analyst will coordinate across various internal departments, including Compliance, Legal, Credit, and Operations, to manage KYC onboarding, periodic reviews, and account maintenance, while ensuring adherence to global and local regulatory standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Manage and coordinate the end-to-end KYC process for new and existing clients, including onboarding, periodic reviews, and event-driven updates
Serve as the key liaison between Relationship Managers, Compliance, and internal stakeholders for all KYC-related matters
Compile, review, and validate client documentation in accordance with internal policies and external regulatory requirements (e.g., CIP, CDD, EDD, AML, Sanctions)
Ensure completeness and accuracy of KYC files prior to submission to Compliance for final approval
Update client information in internal systems, including changes in address, ownership structure, authorized signatories, or legal entity classification
Track KYC review cycles and proactively initiate updates and renewals in line with regulatory timelines
Respond to document requests and follow-ups from Compliance and expedite any issues that could delay onboarding or review processes
Maintain detailed records of all client interactions, documents submitted, and communications in internal systems
Assist with screening clients and related parties against internal and external watchlists (e.g., OFAC, PEPs)
Support the preparation of internal and external audit reviews related to KYC
Monitor internal dashboards and trackers to ensure ongoing compliance with KYC SLAs and reporting obligations
Help identify opportunities for process improvement and automation within the KYC workflow
Provide general administrative support to the Coverage and Credit teams on compliance-related documentation and tasks
Experience / Qualifications / Education
1–3 years of experience in a KYC, Client Onboarding, AML Compliance, or similar middle-office role in a financial institution (bank, broker-dealer, etc.)
Bachelor’s Degree required; Finance, Business, Legal, or related field preferred
Strong understanding of KYC, AML, and regulatory requirements (e.g., BSA/AML, Patriot Act, FATCA)
Familiarity with corporate structures (LLCs, SPVs, Trusts), ownership hierarchies, and beneficial ownership rules
Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and meet deadlines
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); experience with KYC workflow tools a plus (e.g., Fenergo, Salesforce, Actimize)
