$88,000–$100,000

About The Role As

Controller , you’ll be the steward of Love146’s financial health — ensuring accuracy, transparency, and efficiency across all financial operations. You’ll manage accounting and reporting, strengthen internal controls, and help scale our infrastructure as we grow.

This is a key leadership role for someone who loves improving systems, collaborating across teams, and ensuring every financial decision reflects our commitment to protecting children and sustaining our mission.

What You’ll Do Lead Financial Operations

Manage daily accounting and bookkeeping functions, including A/P, A/R, payroll, reconciliations, and monthly close.

Maintain accurate internal reports, statements, and dashboards to guide decisions.

Oversee compliance, internal controls, and audit readiness.

Drive Budgeting, Reporting & Grant Compliance

Partner with programs and development teams to manage grant budgets and reporting. Track restricted/unrestricted funds and ensure compliance with donor and grant requirements.

Prepare and analyze financial data to inform leadership and funders.

Optimize Systems & Processes

Streamline workflows and reporting within Sage Intacct. Collaborate with our outsourced accounting firm to ensure accuracy and automation.

Support department leaders with real-time budget visibility and forecasting tools.

Support Strategic Financial Leadership

Deliver actionable insights, cost analyses, and sustainability models.

Lead audit preparation, risk management, and cash flow reporting.

Strengthen documentation and processes for long‑term organizational stability.

Collaborate & Mentor

Supervise bookkeepers, fostering skill growth and accountability.

Build financial literacy across teams through clear communication and support.

Model integrity, teamwork, and mission‑aligned decision‑making.

What You Bring

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (required)

6–8+ years of nonprofit financial operations experience, with 3+ in a Controller or supervisory role

Proven success managing complex funding streams (federal/state grants, private foundations, donor restrictions)

Deep knowledge of GAAP, fund accounting, and audit processes Technical fluency with Sage Intacct and Microsoft Excel (required); Salesforce experience a plus

Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills — especially with non‑finance audiences
